How fast do SSR standard studios book for Marathon weekend?

Will there still be availability after 7 months for SSR standard studios on Marathon weekend? I heard MW books fast, but I'm trying to combine my SSR and VGF points to stay at SSR.

Last year they were gone by 7 months (even pref location).

Some years SSR studios may be open. For 2024, the probability of being open 7-months out is low. That is because the marathon weekend (Thurs to Sun) in 2024 is Jan 4-7. New Years Day is Monday, Jan 1, and thus that whole week is going to have not just the marathon weekend problem but also the problem of large numbers having rooms for the week starting during the holidays. The last time the marathon weekend was Jan 4-7 in 2018, all DVC rooms everywhere at WDW, with the exception of 1BRs at some of the resorts, were filled for two or more of the days for marathon weekend before 7-months out from Jan 3. In essence, if you want marathon weekend in 2024, and you own a WDW DVC resort, you should consider it imperative to book your home resort immediately, and then hope you might get lucky to do a modification for another resort at 7-months out

The chances will be somewhat better in 2025. Once Jan 1 is past the Monday date, and in 2025 it will be on Wednesday, the marathon weekend moves to the second week of Jan -- Jan 9-12 in 2025.

Yes, race registration is April 11th (for general registration) but the 7 month window won't open until June so you'll have plenty of time after registration to figure out your travel plans. If you own SSR you should still be able to get a room by booking before 7 months, and if not you'll be able to know what you need right at the 7 month window to try.
