When a good code comes out, how fast do the rooms go?
I would hate to be away from this site for a week or so, and come back only to find out that there was a code, but there are no rooms left?
Anyone with any expierience/suggestions? :flower:

Back when the buy 4 days, get 3 days free code was released in 2003, some of the more popular hotel/room categories went pretty fast. And when ap codes come out, they go fast as well. Sometimes by the end of the day, a certain room class at your hotel may be sold out. :scared1:

I have never had any trouble getting a room with a general code, but I wasn't looking for anything special - just a standard room. Still can get free dining for our dates in September and that deal has been (and was) available for some time now. If you are looking for a certain view, etc. it could limit your choices.

I have been trying to get WL standard room for early Dec for 2 years now using both FL res rates and AP rates. I have always called the morning they are released and I still haven't gotten it. I'm going to try again when the FL res rates come out for this time this year. I have always had a list of choices and just gone down it until something I wanted was available. I have never paid rack rate though.

Last year when the Late Fall discounts were released on Aug 28, it was awful trying to get a discount at WL for any room class. Eventually, I picked up days here and there and was able to get a decent discount on a Courtyard room. So, if/when discounts are released again try early and often.

This year I have a coveted AAA ressie for a Standard at WL the first week of Dec. Even if a good discount is released I'll "only" save about $350 for an eight day trip. Last year the code saved me about $800 for our ten day/nine night trip. That was enough to get real nervous about.

If you are flexible, you should get something. The WL/standard room is a rare ressie to get at any discount. CR standard wing rooms are equally as hard.

You can never tell....I just called today to book a very last minute trip next week. When the CM asked where I wanted to stay, I told her I would sleep in a laundry room if I had to since I was booking so late. Just wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible. I got Pop for the AP rate. Couldn't believe that. When she commented on the fact that I am an AP holder I said 'Sure, but there won't be anything open at this late date!' Her response was 'You don't know until you try.' And voila....I got one.
