If you got some unexpected money and it had to be spent at WDW how fast could you plan and be there?

Would you try to make ADR's before you go or just wing it?

How about in two hours? I did that once when Southwest had a fare of $39 each way from Manchester, NH to Orlando. I came into work, turned on the computer and saw the fare. Lemme tell ya', I had the tickets, booked a room at Port Orleans, bought the entrance tickets when I got there (although I already had an annual pass.) When I arrived, I called Disney Dining on the room phone, and booked a couple of ADR's. We were all happy!

I could totally do it an an hour! I have to admit, I do test runs sometimes!

I did a trip planning in 2 days. Not as good as the above poster, but pretty good in my opinion. We had to cancel our trip once because of a family emergency. The following week we decided to salvage what was left of our 2 week vacation and threw together a quick last minute trip. We surprised ourselves and actually got great airfare, room rates/AP, and car rental. This was before DDP (about 5 years ago), so getting ADRs was not a problem.

An evening.
We went to dinner one night with our neighbors who were already going to WDW and decided to join them - they were leaving in 20 days.

We got home and she grabbed her cell phone and I grabbed mine - within 2 hours we had all the dining reservations changed for 2 to 4, got our MVMCP tickets reserved, and had airfare and booked Port Orleans.

It was a really fun evening.

Guve me one hour, I will be on the plane making my ADR's in the airport and while I am at it I can pick up some clothes when I arrive! OK I AM READY....................

I've done it in 4 hrs. It actually wasn't fun doing it that way for me. I'm a big planner and that's half the fun. But, the airfare went down. I booked the flights, got a car to pick us up at home to airport, rented a car in Orlando and packed for both of us. We already have AP's and I had already booked a condo for my extended family who were going to be there 2 days after me. We surprised them when they got there. That part was really, really fun. They'd never been to WDW and I was there to show them everything. It was awesome!! I had to show them the World in 2 days. Talk about commando! ;)
I'd do it again in a heartbeat! It was so much fun!:woohoo:

My last trip (for just my DD and I) I booked the airfare and had a hotel reserved within about 20 minutes of my Ding from Southwest. We left 13 days after I book everything! We didn't make ADR's, just flew by the seat of our pants! It was great.

SHUCKS! All this talk about quick trips is making want to jump down there for the F&W festival. Some good prices on AP discounted rooms.....hmmmm.

Under an hour. If I came into a ton of money, I'd be on the computer, booking airfare, then on the phone booking my room, then switch me over to Disney Dining to make a few ADRs if possible. Head over to Owner's Locker's website, tell them I'm on my way so they can get my locker to me. Throw some clothes in my suitcase and I'm ready. My AP, DDE card, all pertinent cards are always ready to go.

This past Christmas, we decided at 9pm on the day after Christmas that we wanted to go, we were on the road by 11pm, arrived in Orlando at our hotel (Marriott's Cyprus Harbour) at 10am, and was in Magic Kingdom by noon. We stayed 4 nights, did all the Disney parks and also Sea World. It was great, and last minute. We didn't eat any table services in the park, so we didn't need/have ADR's. We stayed in Hilton Head on our way home. It was a lovely FAST trip.

Room booked, airfare booked - 15 minutes. Pack the suitcase - 10 minutes.

I'm in the 'a few hours' group. One quiet Friday a moderator here was taunting me and so I got in the car, drove 4 hours to an airport, boarded a redeye, and went to WDW.

MOST of my vacations are planned 0-14 days in advance. We rarely make ADRs in advance. (I will admit that is the joy of having been so many times - we can be flexible)

Next month I hope to go to Slovenia as part of my trip home to Germany; not much advance planning happening there either. I'm proud to have become rather spontaneous as I age...... :)

I would have thought that hanging around me for this long you would also keep two spare pairs of clean undies in your purse... I always have those and my passport in my purse and am thus ready for anything! :rotfl:

About 15 minutes to pack and another 55 minutes to get there.

actually did it in a week's time - booked everything and superplanned everything out here. :thumbsup2 two years ago and it turned out great.

I also did the superplan in a week thing in February. Just decided to go. I had ADRs made touring plans and got directions to drive there.

It was a great vacation.

Though now I am going in six months and the wait may kill me. Think I preferred the other way. :(

I think I would need a least a week. I'm not very spontaneous.

We decided to head down about 5 days before our trip this Feb. I had only booked 1 ADR, because we thought that's all we'd want. Ha! We're spoiled DDPers now and ended up booking a meal a day on the fly. Had only planned to stay 3 nights offsite- ended up with an additional 2 at POFQ. It was a great trip!
