How far out can I book a cash res at DVC?

I have searched the boards until my eyes have watered but can't find the answer anywhere. I am trying to book a cash reservation for a DVC for June 2015. No can do today.

Do you have any idea when I'll be able to book? We are past the 11 month mark so I am guessing the 7 month out but would like to know for sure. Or maybe it is after the 2015 rates come out?

History dictates that cash rates for 2015 will be available sometime in August. There's no "official" release date as far as I can tell.

That is great that I am only waiting on 2015 rates. Must stalk boards daily now. I was thinking it was more complicated with DVC vs other resort. But it is surprising....I can book a cash reservation before DVC owners can book at a non-home resort?!

For owners that have already traded out of DVC, rooms would be available for cash. Or points that are not yet sold, but owned by the developer.

Cash reservations are separate from points reservations. So you would not be taking a room a member could book.

DVC Members are able to reserve cash stays at DVC resorts 11 months in advance - based on availability. The 25% discount may or may not be available.

When the following year's cash rates have not yet been released, you should still be able to reserve based on this year's rate which will be updated once the new rates are available.

We have done this many times over the years. There may be occasions, depending on the resort and time of year, when there is no availability right at 11 months though. This is because MS first responsibility is to reserve villas using DVC points, but when historically villas have not been reserved with points, they will make them available for cash at 11 months. We have done this many times reserving GVs at HH for Saturday night stays - which is a night usually not reserved using points. Some types of villas (Club level at AKV, BWV GVs, value villas at AKV, value villas at BLT) may never be available at 11 months for cash based on past reservation history.

If you are told nothing is available, I would keep checking with MS as something may still open up. Just be prepared that the 2015 rates will likely be higher than the 2014 rates.
