How far is the walk from DLH really? (WDW vet)

Thanks again to everyone for all the great info. We've decided to book today the........... Grand Californian! Now that we know what to expect with the room condition, we should be okay. (Assuming no major maintenance-type problems.) Since we'll be there for five days, we want to do a lot of broken up days with mornings and evenings, and knowing ourselves, we won't want to do that at DLH, but GCH seems perfect for that. Plus, we really do think the public spaces (including the pool) look nicer at the GCH. We're going to book the pool/park view as well.

Good choice, not that the other choice would have been bad. If you watch World of Color, when the masses are slowly going to the exit, you'll be able to cut out to your hotel. Walking distances doesn't bother me, but walking behind slow crowds makes me absolutely bonkers. If I could afford it, I'd book GCH each time.

Totally agree! One time we hit the after-Wishes crowd at Magic Kingdom, and boy was that not fun. So yeah, I can see the big benefit in this!!
