How far is the New Orleans, French Quarter Resort to the Campground?

My DH, children and I are staying at the campground in Oct. I am trying to talk my mom, dad, brother and girlfriend into coming to WDW with us. I called and got the prices of the cabins and my mom seems to think that she can stay at a resort for cheaper. :guilty:
I told her that I am sure she can, however, she would not have the comforts of the "outdoors feel" and when you are in a cabin, you have your stove, refrig, and all that you need, just like home.
She said that she wouldn't mind paying to eat out everyday for the price it would cost.
SOOO.... my question is.... Which Moderate resort is closer to the campground?
I know that they can't stay in a value resort.. It is 2 adults plus my brother the age of 18 plus his girlfriend the age of 17.
total of 4 people
I just want something close to FW that way they can visit us often and easily. :cool1:
THanks,

Its very easy to get to Port Orleans- either Riverside or French Quarter- just take a left out of the campground exit-and maybe 1/2 mi down you take a right on Bonnet Creek. Both resorts will be on your left(again maybe 1/2 mi-if that) They are just regular 2 lane roads-not highways, like some of the roads. There is a guard shack between the campground and Bonnet Creek-you just need your parking pass in the window to go through though, its very easy. HTH

There is no more guard shack. The security stops are at the entrances to FW and PO.

Thanks to you both for the quick reply.
Has anyone stayed at any of the Mod. resorts and prefer one over the
other?? :confused3
I have no idea which one to guide her to.
Thanks again,
Kelly

We like them all but PO is nice because we like to go to DT and the boat ride is nice. One less place for us to drive or take a bus to.

I love PO French Quarter the best of the 2- it's smaller, more quaint, and they could still visit Riverside and enjoy the amenities there. The boat to DTD is great also. I spent a week there solo last May, it was our 3rd trip to POFQ-but we also have done FW many times, both camping and cabins. If you have any more questions, just post or PM me- I'd be happy to help!!
