How far is it?

How far is it from Port Canaveral to Cape Canaveral? Maybe do this as a shore excertion btw back to backs if they kick us off the ship btw? Taxi cost?

Not sure about the distance, but they don't make you get off the ship if you are doing back to back cruises.

I think non-americans need to get off the ship in between, you need to clear customs/immigration again.
CC is about 15 minutes from the port, we pulled in and saw the price (about $120 for the 4 of us) and decided against it, our children are small and we didn't feel that they would enjoy it. I'm sure a taxi would be pretty inexpensive.
If you get off last and just hang out you should be back on board within a couple of hours. Hope that helps.

If you are planning to tour Kennedy Space Center I would rent a car. Take a free shuttle over to one of the rental places (book ahead or by internet from the ship once you know that you have to get off). I think that the distance is enough to be a pricey cab ride, but the real problem is getting a cab back to the ship. A rental car gives you lots more control of your time and you can visit Cocoa beach, the pier, and other places as well. Driving in the area is quite simple.
