Hi there,
Thanks for all the information in the forum.
I reserved Nov.21 and 22 preferred sites. This would be the first time camping ever for my family of 4 with a 9-year-old and a 4-year-old. I am wondering if I need to reserve a golf cart. How far is it to walk from loop 100 or loop 200 to the campfire singalong event location? Also are sites in loop 100 and 200 noisy or quiet?
Thanks in advance. I could not wait to go. Hope it won't be very cold.

By reading some other posts, it looks like half a mile distance. I just answered my own question.

The walk might be a little long but that really depends on your family and what they consider to be a long walk. I have never stayed in 100 or 200, but I have stayed in 300 which is right next to that and most trips we've been in 500. We walk or bike to the singalong every time we are there. Biking might be a quicker option if you are taking bikes.
As for noise, can't speak from direct experience with 1 or 200 but I don't think 300 or 50o are noisy. You are going to get some noise from the marina during the day (MK ferry horn, but it won't be oppressively loud) and from the fireworks at night, but either way I say you should be ok.
Welcome to the Fort.....and welcome to camping! I hope your family REALLY enjoys it!!

We've stayed in 100 and 200 several times and usually take the bus to the Meadows for the sing along/movie.

As far as noise, both loops are generally quiet. Loop 100 can hear the ferry horn faintly, there is camper foot traffic walking to/from 100, 200, and sometimes 300 in the mornings and evenings, and finally you can occasionally hear hoofbeats of the horses pulling a carriage or wagon as they circle the loop. Otherwise, these loops are no noisier than any other loop and campers are respectful of quiet hours.

adding: both loops can also hear the music from the "water pageant" when it visits the FW beach (not loudly, but not faintly either) each night.

Thanks for the information! We are going to try to walk over for the first night. If too long, we will try bus the second night.
Looks like that the noise level is not going to be a big issue.
