I can't help you but I would love to know the answer to this as well.
We're a family of five currently booked on the Fantasy for this coming spring break & we're considering jumping ship to RC. We have 8 Disney Cruises under our belts. Love the Disney product but the price is getting out of control. Especially since our children are now at an age (16,15 &11) where we have to travel when school is not in session. We're thinking it's time to make the leap over to RC but knowing how everything works with DCL is holding me back. I feel like such a rookie with RC. Although we would save a great deal of money booking RC I 'm fearful that my lack of planning skills and knowledge with this product will result in a less then stellar family vacation. Any planning advice would be greatly appreciated.
We're considering a Freedom class ship if that matters.
My answer was going to be "not as far in advance as we would like".
Just found some emails. I was able to reserve character dining on Freedom on 11/23 for our 1/26 cruise. I reserved the ice show 11/1.
For our 10/18 cruise on Vision, a week or so ago I was finally given the opportunity to set up times, if I wanted to, for My Time Dining, and to reserve any fine dining I might want.
Monday I was able to book My Time Dining Times for our 11-Oct cruise. It wasn't available every time I checked before then. So it seems to be random???
Nope, no notice. I even called last week and the rep told me to check at 60 days. But I knew from the boards here and Cruise Critic that people could do it before then. This is our first non-Disney cruise so I'm still trying to figure it all out. I am bummed at the lack of information. I guess I got spoiled by the Dis
