How far in advance to you buy tickets

My trips 6 months away, but I have started checking prices. The price is the same as what I paid last year. I have been getting emails since last Feb about prices to mco. There seems to be very little variation in price in our market. I was just wondering how far in advance do most of you buy.

I fly either JB or SW predominently when going to Florida. I like these two airlines, they give me good service, without massive numbers of changes after I book. So....I don't go around checking other airlines fares...I know what I want to pay and how high I will go. So basically, I watch from the day the airline opens their booking window, and book when I see a price that falls within my parameters. Does the price sometimes go down? Yep. If I'm booked with JB, I can call them and get a credit for the difference applied to my JB account. Pretty much the same with SW.

Thanks I was not aware that jet blue and southwest did this.Great info to know. It seems that Delta, airtrans and continental have the cheapest flights from this market. I will have to check and see if airtrans is going to have the same policy since they are now owned by Southwest.

I typically fly either JetBlue or Airtran. I typically buy the first Tuesday after the flights are released and 90% of the time that is when I get the best deal. On occassion, one or both legs of the flights will go down in price and both will give you credits towards future flights (and baggage or upgrades with Airtran)

I fly airtran or Delta to MCO. Those are my only 2 choices. I keep an eye on the prices about 6 months out but don't book until at least the 60 day point.

I've booked as close as 30 days but there are plenty of direct flights to MCO out of Atlanta.
