3 months, I try to get last minute bargains

6 months, I know what our schedule is like by then

9 months, that way I know we'll get what we want

12 months, planning my trip as early as possible gives me peace of mind, and give me happy thoughts!

I voted for three of them.

9 + 12 months because we tend to plan our family vacations far in advance (It helps with everyone getting time off, and our DVC booking window)

I also voted 3 months because I have booked under 3 months before. But never as a planned oh I've known for months I'm going but I am holding out for a deal.

I leave for the world this week, but only decided and booked 3 weeks ago. :thumbsup2

I voted for 12 mths. As a DVC member, I usually book our rooms at 11 mths which is the earliest we can book with points. ;)

We booked our condo about a yr in advance so that way we knew that we were getting it and that way we could plan as we go and not rush it.

We booked at about 4 1/2 months our this time but we usually book just a couple of months in advance. Dh has an insane travel schedule for work so it's usually within a couple of months only that we know he can go! This time, he talked to his boss and, since he's been logging so many miles, his boss said to just book it and they'd work around it.

when we go there are 17 of us.
we always book as far out as possible to be sure we get what and where we want.

we always book well out to be sure we get what and where we want

It really all depends on the time of year you are going. Off season, you can wait a little longer to book and take advantage of last minute savings if they occur. Going in prime season (as we do in March) we book about 8 months out - my rule of thumb has always been to have it booked by the end of the summer.

I love having it to look forward to and to plan........

We went mid May 2007 and booked a 3 bedroom condo at Windsor Hills 3 days before we left for only $69 per night. DH did not know if he could get time off so as soon as he was given the ok by his boss, we booked the condo and packed the van. We bought our Disney tickets at Maple Leaf Tickets on I-92 at a decent price.

If you are not fussy about where to stay and go in the off season, there are tonnes of places to stay and you can negotiate. I have a friend who books her vacation home when she gets there. We are not that brave!
