How far in advance can you cook hamburgers?

We are having hamburgers as part of the menu for Ds's graduation party. Rather then trying to cook a large amount of burgers during the party, I thought maybe we could cook them the day before, then warm them in the oven right before ready to put them out. I'm also making pulled pork in the slow cooker and obviously that has to be done the day before and warmed up too. Do you think the hamburgers will be okay?:confused3

I just don't think they will taste the same...they'd probably be "fine" to eat but i am sure the flavor and texture will be a lot different after they are refrigerated. The Pulled Pork is much different, can definitely prepare that the day before.

Rather than a day before, grill them before the party and put them in a slow cooker full of beef broth. They will be juicy and retain all the flavor, as well as picking some up from the broth.

We grill burgers and hot dogs right before the party and keep them hot in a cooler. I would not want to serve reheated food. I would also do my pork that day. Just time it so it is done right before the party and let it cook all day long.

Ooooh, I like that idea. Sounds yummy. Can you tell I haven't much to eat today?:cutie:

we have also cooked them until they are about 1/2 way done and then cooked them the rest of the way on a baking sheet in the oven on low with a little bbq sauce...They can be cooked like that for a few hours before you need them and you would never know, they are soooo good!!!
