How far in advance can you book your trip?

Hi -

We're planning our next trip to WDW for October 2002. Our last trip was in May 2000 and I know that although we wanted to book early we couldn't because no one had rates until September 1999.

Does anyone know of a good way to get a package deal far, far in advance?
