How far from POP to closest store??

How long of a taxi ride from POP to the closest place we could pick up some beer/wine?

Also, how far to closest wal-mart?

Just trying to figure out if it's cheaper/easier to rent a car...

you can get beer/wine at Pop. just pay more for it.

I like the Publix off of South International drive.

out of Pop turn left. at next light turn left - Osceola Parkway - at 2nd light (Gaylord is right next to you) - turn right SID. then once you are under the overpass - before you get to US 192 - turn left - this is a Publix.

for the walmart you can kept on Osceola parkway (but I hate spending money on tolls)

or
instead of turning right at SID turn left - when this road dead ends - turn right (535) - you will see a Hess gas station - behind it and a little further is the Walmart. this Walmart is not right on 535 so it can be hard to see.

It cost me 9.50 to get to publix in May and 10.00 a few weeks ago (one way). Well worth the savings since beer is 5.00 per!! The last time I asked the cab to wait 10 minutes since I was only buying a few items and he stopped the meter for me. I buy snacks & bagels which you can toast in the food court. I believe there are 2 available toasters to use.

I can't remember what thread I saw this info on but I did see it. Someone had suggested taking the bus to Downtown Disney then walking over to the Hess station near there. Then just head back to DTD and catch the bus back to the Pop. The person in the thread said they always do this for their beer/wine purchases; much cheaper than buying it on property. DBF and I are leaving in 25 days for Pop and we plan on doing this. We took a taxi 3 or 4 years ago to a Publix down the road. I can't remember the amount of the fare.
