How far away is the ocean to where you live?

About 9 hours south to get to the beach. We are stuck with pools, lakes, and rivers here.

I'm in southeast TN, & the ocean is TOO FAR away!

I really think I've been "misplaced." I'm a beach girl & NEED to be closer to a southern beach! The ocean waves & that salty air is just part of my soul.

We're surrounded by mountains & within probably 3 hours of Gatlinburg. Everyone is always like, "Ooh, beautiful mountains!" And I'm like, "Eh... it's a mountain."

So I decorate our house like we're living at the beach & pretend. One of my favorite compliments ever is when my niece came into our house & said, "Ooh, Aunt Wendy, your house is like a condo in Florida!"

Until you look out the window.

A few miles to the beaches in Staten Island, and about 30 minutes to the Jersey Shore.
As close as I live, I rarely go to the shore, the water is anything but clear, and I've gotten spoiled by clean beaches from cruising, so I stick to swimming pools at home....the concrete ocean, lol.

I'm about 15-20 minutes from Redondo Beach. It's been years since I've been in the ocean.

80 miles from our main home, about an hour and 45 minute drive through the Coast Range. A 1 minute walk out the door of our beach house.
