How far are you on your taxes?

Ugh, I just started tonight- I always forget what a pain in the bootie it is! This year is worse than usual because I have W2's from two different regular jobs, all the info for the business I own, PLUS info for another self-employment job.

Have you finished yours yet? Still have a headache over them? Haven't even thought about it?

As soon as my fiance told me i owed money, i put them aside until I have to do them!

Already e-filed, got my return in my bank account 2 weeks later, and money is already spent!

We did our taxes in the beginning of February. We just received the state return yesterday and the federal return is supposed to be mailed to day

We have all our information gathered and the forms filled out. DH wants to look them over again so he can fine tune them a little. We both have 1099 forms to deal with so we need to iemize some more things. Maybe next year we'll be mroe organized!

Not me! I hate doing all of the paperwork I need to in order to turn it over to the accountant. I do need to call and make an appointment -- I was just thinking about that earlier. I suppose it's time for me to sit down and journal everything -- it's just that every expense I make with my business has to be documented. If I really was on top of things, I'd do it all year long, but I just don't have the ambition (or desire). I'm really good at procrastinating about taxes. But.....our refund check usually comes just in time for our summer vacation. I look at that as a plan!

Our federal is done and we got our money back in 13 days ( record time ) and the money is already spent. The state taxes I owe them a whopping $27 and I will put it off until April 15th at 8 am. The local taxes I owe them too and I'm doing the same thing although I already have the money put aside for that, they don't give me a discount if I pay before April 15th, then I will wait until then!

i didn't vote. ours our finished but not sent. we don't have the money to pay them right now so we're saving and are going to send them in april.

Did the kids 2 weeks ago, and they have (make that had) their money early this week. Just finished netfiling DH and mine about 10 minutes ago. He will pay April 30. In the meantime, mine will come, I hope, in the same 2 week frame. Note: We're in Canada, so they aren't DUE until April 30!

Federal - filed electronically last month, got the refund within two weeks and already spent it on bills, bills, bills.

State - also filed electronically, but we owe them money, so I not will be paying them until April 15th.

Remember, a tax refund is not free money from the government. It is really an interest-free loan FROM YOU to the government. So even though it feels good to get a refund, it's actually better for you financially to break even or even owe a little bit.
