How easy is it to get a lunch table at Plaza Inn since they don't take reservations?

It depends on what time you go. There are no beepers. It is a quick service, so you go in and grab a tray and then go and get your desired food, then seat yourself. It's very big and has indoor and outdoor seating. If you go smack at lunch time, it could be super busy. We've never had a problem getting a seat though no matter what time we go there. It's delicious too! Have fun!!!

When the line is long they have CMs at the entrance only letting a few people in at a time. They seem to know just how many people they can accommodate at the tables.

Oh, I thought it was table service, like the Plaza Restaurant at WDW!! Thank you- now I know we can get in!!!!

It seems like it should be, but it's one of those with the multiple hot stations and you choose your food. In the morning they have Minnie's breakfast there. That is a buffet and the drinks are all self serve, unlike the other character breakfasts where the drinks are served by a waiter/waitress even if they are buffets. It's a pretty restaurant though.

It's not bad, but there will be a line at times based upon who knows what metric.

Is there a long line to wait in, or do they give you a beeper? I really want to try it!
We usually know what we're going to order.
It seems like the times we eat there it's super busy for lunch or dinner.
So if I see a table open, I'll send one of our group over to hold it for us.

Much easier than roaming around with a full tray looking for a spot.

Imagine if every guest did what you just described...

MmMmM Plaza in Fried Chicken :love:If there is a line, it goes by pretty quickly, so don't let that scare you away.

Have Fun!

Well, of course, if literally everyone did that it would probably work fine. The problem is that some do that and others wait until they have food.
Precisely. Holding a table makes it better for the person doing so, but a worse problem overall. Having people eating at tables + those waiting to eat sitting at tables means less tables available for those who need them at a given point in time. Good vibes all around everyone; it's just a minor pet peeve of mine. :goodvibes

Good news I always avoided Plaza Inn as I also thought it was sit down, but now I will try it this time!

When you have small kids who can't carry their own tray and are touching everything in the buffet line it makes sense to have one person find a seat with the kids while the other gets food. I never thought this would bug someone. Personally tho if it looks like people are circling and there aren't enough seats we'd go somewhere else or take food to go when possible.

That's true. I have had DH get the kids in high chairs. But not just to claim seats.

Always a tricky topic. Been on all sides. I try to use the 50% minimum rule for theater seating... could work here too. Alas as a PP said, "good vibes". Loved that phrase.

With regard to Plaza Inn, imo, decent food on our one visit. Was busy though. Felt like we got the last table but staff are always turning them over fast, so there's always one somewhere seemingly. They have it down to a science that the Beautiful Mind guy could even get interested in.

No problem.....we always walk up and get in no problem. Their fried chicken is legendary.

It really depends on when you drop by. Lunch will usually have a line into the little walkway. It goes by fairly fast. But I've been there on a Friday at dinner where the line was all the way to the first aid station. Had to be at least 60 minutes.

I always hold a table while my husband gets the food typically.
There's two reasons for this :

I've had carpal tunnel surgeries and can't typically carry all our food so he does.

He has a bad back so the chairs inside/boots are much easier on him so we line up early before it opens to get a table inside which I hold for him.
However sometimes it's a spur of the moment descison to eat here because it smells so good , lol and just two weeks ago around 1pm had no issues getting a table inside at all so you never know.

I always recommend going at opening for the best chance - 12 noon though people line up as easrly as 30 minutes before on busiest days.
