How easy is it to change rooms mid-stay?

We are contemplating adding 1 night onto our stay (mostly because the a/f is way way cheaper). We could only do this by staying in a studio for the first night though and then moving to a 1 BR for the remainder of our stay. We are booked at BCV. I just wondered how easy it would be to move everything. I just wonder if it's worth the pain or not. Please share your experiences or thoughts...thanks!

We split a stay between SSR and BCV in Feb., and it wasn't a big deal. We had our bags ready and called bell services. They told us we didn't need to be in the room, but we were actually were. I would call to make sure the bags get transfered, if you can. Ours were missed, so I spent some time at BCV trying to figure out where they were. They made it to our room around 8:30pm. The woman at SSR felt terrible and comp'd our dinner, but I think transfers usually go better than that. We did it one other time (from All-Star Music to BCV) and had no problems.

So long story short, theoretically it's no big deal. Pack your bags, call bell services, head for the parks, go to the second resort, let bell services know you're there, they'll deliver your bags.

I spent two nights in OKW then switched over to Boardwalk couple of years ago, I didn't have any problems. Like the other posters said I packed up called bell services went to the parks headed to BWV and checked in there and let them know I had bags and they broght them up no problems.

I've been thinking of doing a split stay between BWV & BCV and was wondering how long we would have to wait to get into our room after the transfer. Would we have to wait until 4:00 to have our room at the second resort or is it possible to have one ready like at 12:00 or so. I just don't want to be left sitting there waiting all afternoon for our room to be ready. We are going for the marathon in January and the day I was thinking of switching resorts is the day of the race. Just didn't want to get back from the race and have no place to go. Anyone have an advise? Maybe we should just stay put and know we will have a room when we get back.

I wouldn't assume you'd have a room ready. Half of our group went to MK in the morning on the day of our transfer, and then headed to BCV (our second resort). We got there around 2pm and I was hoping to get a room right away because the other half of our group had been at Blizzard Beach and I knew they'd want to get cleaned up. But our room wasn't ready until 4pm, which of course is fine because that's when they're supposed to be ready. But I wouldn't make plans based on getting into a room earlier than 4.

That's what I've been thinking...so maybe I should just stay the whole stay at the BWV and save BCV for another trip. Thanks!

We're kind of in the same situation. We have DS who is only 1 and naps pretty much from 1-4...the exact time we would be room-less. I just wondered if how flexible they would be with us as to letting us stay late in one room or check in early into the other. It's kind of a crap-shoot I guess. At least we would be in the same resort.

(With my tongue firmly in cheek)Shouldn't the "room ready" policy, which we all know is in place, pretty much guarantee that you'll be offered some room when you check in, even if it doesn't meet all your requests? Actually that is what happened to me one time when I transferred from BWV to BCV at 11:00 in the morning. They at least offered what they had available, although they didn't have exactly what I'd requested. But then, the next time I transferred over, I had to wait for my room (no choice given) and the room I eventually got didn't meet all my requests either!
