How early should we leave to the airport on the return flight home from the POP? I have never flown as an adult except once and then my mother was with me ROFL! So really I have still never flown as an adult... the crowds.. the confusion... I am getting nervous lol.. Please tell me the tips. We are flying American Airlines out of Austin and then back into Austin TX. Thanks in advance for any tips and advice!

Most airlines recommend getting to the airport 2 hours before your scheduled domestic flight.

You'll have to factor in such things as the day of the week, security lines, traffic & construction.

I would say to allow at least 1 1/2 hours. If this is your first time I might allow a little more. It's better to be sitting at the gate with time to spare than worrying about missing your flight because you are stuck in a line.

If you are taking ME, they will have you be ready 3 hours before your flight.

I agree, I would rather sit at the airport and wait a few extra minutes than be running and almost miss my flight. Also, you never know when you get in line behind that one person who is put on this earth to make you late.

With a base of being physically at the airport 2 hours before your flight, if you are going to be returning a rental car, factor in another 45-60 minutes to gas that up and return. If you are doing MEARS, allow an extra hour for the pickups that they may be making at other resorts before they head out onto the interstate to the airport.
If you are renting your own ground transportation, such as a towncar or limo, allow 60 minutes drive time to the airport (Sanford and MCO). We'd much rather be early and have a relaxing meal or take time to "nap" than be running around trying to make connections at the last minute. Been there; done that. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:
