Maybe an hour early? It might be okay to get there when it opens, though, because it's not really the crowded time of year. It's a weekday and before the Thanksgiving rush. If you're going during a holiday period, you might want to get there up to two hours early. Or, if you just want to be first in line it might be a good idea to get their early even during the "off" season.
We just returned and we were staying off-site. We got dropped off at the entrance at 8:40 and were entering the park at 9AM..we printed our tickets at home which was great..NO WAIT
We just got back but stayed on site so we got in an hour early. As we entered at 8am the lines were starting form for off site people.
We got an hour at HP before the main gates opened and the queues were already long from just onsite people. When the gates opened HP was flooded with people.
We arrived about an hour early. Once we parked and walked to the entrance of IOA, offsite people were being allowed in but being sent to the left around the park loop while those with early entry went to the right. We walked around and got in line in Jurassic Park. We went during a busy time of year though (August) and it might be much easier this time of year.
Since the OP is already there, I hope that's the case!
