How early/late can I catch a shuttle to/from SeaWorld

I'm a stay at the parks open-close kind of guy, but I read somwhere the free shuttles to Sea World get you there after the park opens and leave before the park closes.

Is this true?

If so, what's the next best alternative to getting to SeaWorld. Blowing money on cabs every day seems a bit extreme.
