How early is too early to call on a Saturday morning?

It depends on what shift you work. I work second, so anything before 11:00 am is early to me. If I worked third shift, anything before 4:00 pm would be early.

At our house, anytime before noon. LOL!! But *definitely* don't call before 10, unless we're expecting you.

i'm with rajah. before noon on the weekends will wake at least my dh and usually me too.

i'd say 10 am is a good time though.

i usually turn the ringer on the phone off before we go to bed on friday.

We had a call at 6:45 am this morning!

Of course DH is an appliance repairman, and it was an emergency!

How come emergencies never happen in the late afternoon?

I don't like phone calls to my house (people always assume it is my mother speaking when I answer the phone) at all usually...but before 10am is too early for the weekends, IMO.

DITTO!! 10:00 AM....

One thing that just drives me nuts is people who call at inappropriate times!! like an employee who calls our house at 10:30 PM for a NON-emergency!!

Or my dh's family... they have no respect for time (either that or maybe they just can't tell time!!

)

I would love to have some whitty saying to put on the answering machine to let people know when it is ok to call our house. I try not to answer the phone when I'm reading my son a bedtime story (usually between 7:00-8:00 PM) and I do hate calls after 8:00 PM, but will usually answer the phone until 9:00. I think any calls after 9:00 are too late! Especially considering I usually retire at 9:30, but sometimes earlier!!

I just don't answer the phone until I'm completly awake unless John-Cole isn't home then I'll answer. But my mom, grandmother, DH and DS all live with me so whoever else can wait until I feel like answering the phone. I hate phones though.

I'm a 10 AM person too. But if we're having a family brunch (which happens quite frequently) anytime after 9 is OK. My brother once called me at about 8:15 and realized he'd awakened me - but in his defense, he had been up for hours, being the father of triplets (who were probably 2 at the time!)

10am on the weekends. It's the night calls that I bother me especially when we're in the middle of dinner or I'm trying to get my 2 year old to calm down and go to sleep.

Anytime after 9 a.m. and before 9 p.m. for us. On week days most people know I am up to get DS to the bus at 7:45, so they can call me any time after that.

wow, I am really in the minority here. I think that anything after 7am is fine. I think sleeping past then is lazy!! I cannot do it. I felt gross today when I slept until 830!!! Wastes half the day!!!

Unless it is family, friends or someone wanting me to interpret don't call before noon. Family and friends can call ofter 9am unless emergency. Interpreting assignments anytime. That's money!

9am. When Dh and I were dating, any call would
have been ok BUT, I was a single woman with not
a care in the world and lived by myself. note - he
did not usually get up b4 11am OR was sailing way
early and done after 1pm so he rarely woke me up.
It was the late hour that was my issue- if home, I
was in bed by 10, asleep.

Anyone calling before 10am on a Saturday or Sunday had better be calling for an emergency.

10, I could be up a little earlier or a little later, but 10 is a time that if someone did call and I was asleep I wouldn't be as mad.

Obviously if you know for sure someone will be up earlier then it would be ok to call them earlier, but I think don't call anyone before 10, even if you have been up since 6.

Other than an emergency call, I would never call anyone before 10:00am or after 9:30pm.

(I even wait until after 10:00am before cutting the grass!)

One time, my mom woke up my college roommate on a weekend. He told me..."tell your mother that we are college students and are up at a lot odder times than she is and will start calling her at any time that WE are up." I laughed pretty hard at that one....and his point was made. LOL.
