How early in the Spring can you visit either VB or HH and sit on the beach?

Hi.

I know weather varies dramatically but I was wondering what months, especially spring, are reasonalbly reliable for beach weather at HH or VB?

I'm hearing that March at HH is a long shot for beach weather...

Thank you.

Paul

I'll defer to others on HHI. In Vero, it is possible all year long to have days when you could be on the beach. It would be up to individual taste about actually going into the water. Temps in Vero the past two weeks have been in the mid to high 80's so you can certainly be on the beach there.

We just returned from HHI. The weather they said was a few degrees warmer than normal, but not much. We wouldn't sit on the beach, but then we live in a part of the country that's even hotter than Orlando. However, I remember when we lived in Massachusetts, and for Massachusetts people, the weather was probably fine for sitting on the beach. When we lived in Massachusetts we used to frolic at the Water Parks at WDW in November while the natives there, with their jackets on, looked at us like we were nuts. So I'd say that for you Northerners, March is about the limit, no sooner.

We have been there in mid April and did enjoy the beach and DS even waded in ocean, but heated pool was swimming choice. We did get quite a bit of sun exposure even with block on, so sun is string then. That beach was great to sit, read or walk forever!

I was at HH last April 19-24th, and the week after Easter the year before that. Last year's weather was idyllic and we spent several days at the beach. I didn't go into the water but that's just me. Plenty of other people seemed to be enjoying the surf.

The year before I also spent a couple of days at the beach under an umbrella, reading a book and enjoying the sights. Weather was cooler that year.

Last year's weather was so gorgeous, I came home and did an add-on! This year we'll be there April 27-May 2.

Hope you get to enjoy the beach when you go.

I am here right now in Hilton Head (yes, I know I am addicted to the DisBoards!) I have been here since Sunday, the 16th, and it has been cloudy and kinda cool the whole time. It was sunny on Sunday, but ever since the weather has not been good. I think April would probably be a better time weatherwise, but this is my spring break and here I am. Still glad to be here!

We just got back from VB (march 9-14). Weather was great. No problem sitting on the beach. Water temp was 67 - 70 degrees. A little chilly for some but not all. My DS (9) stayed in the ocean darn near all day. Only came out to get sunblock. I also ventured into the water every day but could onlyt take it for about an hour at a time.

We were in HH two years ago in early May and found it to be chilly. Now, like Simba's Mom, we live in a very warm climate. Others seemed to think the temps were just right .... I was the lady on the beach wrapped in towels to stay warm. My husband just laughed and said I'd really adjusted to south TX.

We went to VB last year in early May and found the temps much more to our liking.

Either way, a day at HH or VB is a treat -- enjoy
