Good morning!

We were planning on arriving at the Fort around 11am. Any chance we'd get our cabin early? We are arriving on a Saturday (April 25). If not, I know they will store our luggage, but what about some groceries we are bringing? I'm arriving from another stop in FL so I was going to bring the groceries with me.

I'm just thinking we may want to head into one of the parks for the afternoon, but I'm nervous about the groceries until 7pm or so. Any ideas?

It really depends on how busy they are and how many vacancies they have. We have checked in to a cabin as early as 9am - back in the early 90's. I've also checked in and been assigned a site as early as 7:30am.

It's rare, but it does happen.

Not a cabin but we were able to check into ASM at 10:30 am. If they are clean and ready often they will let you. You might want to call ahead from the car and mention the grocery situation. While they supposedly have storage for that stuff at the front desk, I know they put our garden grocer delivery in our cabin...before we even checked in. It may limit your loop choice but worth the call!

Checked in around 1pm two times. They won't tell you if there is a cabin open if you call. We hit Publix's and buy a cheap cooler to keep our groceries just in case. By the time we get to FW, there has been cabins available. I will add that we go during value season.

We checked in and had our cabin a little before noon. This was Jan. during value season.

Can't wait to go back!

Peace.
Colleen

Yeah, I'll definitely have to get a cooler because I'll have some frozen items. But the big stuff (like 2 gallons of milk) take up way too much room!

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I'm actually worried about the opposite -- arriving too late. We'll be driving from quite a distance and there are just so many variables. I'm afraid that we'll be arriving around dinner time 11/27 at best, but more likely later. Perhaps I should let the reservations folks know that we could potentially be late arrivals...yikes, does anyone know if there's a cap on the time for check ins? Do they batten the hatches at 8 p.m. at the registration hut?
