Leaving LAX on Dec. 31 on 11:30 a.m. flight. We will be 40 miles from the airport (no, not at Disney ;)). How early should I have the car service pick us up? 7:30? Is that enough time--this is a domestic flight.

Thanks!

The car service probably has the best information on how long it would take from your location to the airport.

No, they are asking what time we would like to be picked up on the registration form. I'm sure some people like a different "cushion" of time, so we pick the time.

DH and I went to Disney Friday 11/12/10. We had a 40 mile trip to Logan Airport in Boston for an 1130am flight. I asked for an 8am pickup and they were 1/2 hour late.

I was extremely ticked but because I built in a cushion we still got to the airport on time (and the driver sped the entire trip).

I know I am on the opposite coast from you but wanted to stress the importance of extra time. Better to be waiting at the gate then missing the flight.

I don't know. I'm chronically early for things, but I would be a little nervous with that time frame. LA traffic can be horrendous and since you're flying out on a Friday that will fall into the hours of morning rush hour. I would push it back to at least 7am (or even 6:30) for the pick-up. That way if they're a few minutes late, or you run into traffic, you should be fine. I'd rather have to sit and wait at the airport than to stress out about getting through traffic, check-in lines and security.

Does this company have a customer service phone number? I would call them. Are you staying at a hotel? If so, call guest services and see what time they would advise. LAX is crazy on normal days, let alone a holiday weekend.
