How early does the entrance at the backend near BCW of Epcot open in the morning? (m)

Do people ever walk through Epcot so they can take the monorail over to MK or is it faster to take the bus?

The International Gateway opens at the same time as the main entrance to Epcot but WS is roped off. We often walked this way and caught the monorail to MK during our last visit--I don't think it is faster than the bus because it is a pretty good distance from the IG to the monorail but it is a great time to get some WS photos and who can pass up a monorail ride!!

We were down 9/28-10/4 and the bus system seemed VERY slow. We waited for the Magic Kingdom bus for 30 minutes at BCV. So coming back that afternoon we took the monorail to Epcot. If you rent a stroller, save your receipt and get another stroller at the entrance and there is a dropoff near the BCV exit. We did not do that and ended up carrying our 3 y/o. It was not any faster, but beat standing and waiting for the bus. Our kids are better when moving. Hope this helps.

We walked through Epcot to get the monorail to go to dinner at Poly. The walk through Epcot is really not that long if you take short cut after Canada.

Once at the T&TC it is just a short walk to the Poly.

In late September we were meeting friends at 9am(park opening) at M:S. They came in the front and were let in early, we came through Int'l Gateway and they didn't let you get your bags checked until 9 am on the dot.

I'm sorry... did someone say shortcut? we are always looking for a shortcut. where is it and where does it go? thanks

One thing to note, and it sounds like you all realize this, but you do need your "ticket" to get into EPCOT to get to the monorail. I had a pretty funny experience last year on the way to MK (funny now, definitely NOT funny then!). We were taking the boat to EPCOT to get on the monorail, and realized we'd forgotten the passes. Knowing they never ask when boarding trans, I told my DH that I would meet him at the gate to MK. He ran all the way back to the Dolphin to get the pasess and I was stuck with three preschoolers at the back gate to EPCOT with no ticket, no stroller AND no hotel key! I thought the monorail was outside the rear gate, since I hadn't been there for 10 years. It took me about an hour and a half to get to MK! We called it our planes, trains and automobiles day, since I had to eventually use every mode of trans available to get to MK!!! The kids kept saying, "we're NEVER going to get there!" and "I thought Disney World was FUN! This is AWFUL!" By the time we got to MK, it was nap time!

So, long story short, don't forget those passes!

Thanks for all the tips! I was kinda hoping you could walk through the IG at like 7 am to get to the monorail. Oh, well! But I'll definitely do it during open hours. My kids prefer moving over waiting too!
