How early do you get to the Airport before your flight?

1. 1.5 Hours
2. 1.75 Hours
3. 2 Hours
4. 2.25 Hours
5. 2.5 Hours

My vote went for 1.5 hours but I need to add a little explanation for that. I travel regularly for work and in fact often only arrive an hour before the flight if I am not checking baggage. When I travel with my family we always do 2 hours just to allow extra time for those unexpected events :earsboy:

I don't fit.

One hour...

I also travel for work and at most airports I get to use the "faster" line for frequent flyers for security.

I like the 2 hours, it gives me time to get through security and then I grab a bite to eat. I'd rather sit in the airport reading my book, instead of worrying if I'll get stuck in a security line.

I don't fit either.

At home, I get to the airport about an hour before my flight. Even though we have an "International" airport, it is only 10 gates and very small. Curbside checkin is immediate, and I then park the car and stroll through security with about 45 minutes to spare.

Now at MCO, I get there whenever Magical Express gets me there, usually about 2 hours before.

Another 1 hour guy. But that's at my home airport (BDL) where I know the setup and am confident that's plenty of time.

I allow 2 hours. Many times MCO is crazy with all the people so you need extra time to get through security.

We normally arrive 1 hr before. If we're checking baggage we might allow and extra 15 min. or so.

I picked an hour and a half. A lot depends on what airport I'm using. I usually don't get there as early for a smaller airport.

Last time I flew was last summer. I hadn't driven to that particular airport for a long time. So, I left early not sure exactly how long it would take me. I arrived so early that they put me on an earlier flight!! Worked out well for me because it gave me longer in Minneapolis between flights.

We used to work with a guy that would ALWAYS get to the airport late. Especially if it was a day trip. It used to drive me crazy.

I picked 1.2 but really for me it is 1 hour or less. I fly out of South bend & it is a very smal airport. If we fly early am then it might be less because the counters don't open early. So i leave my house 1.5 before my flight.

I've found that 1.5 is usually plenty of time for me, because I mostly fly during the off-seasons when the planes are not as crowded.

The few times I have flown in the summer peak season, I allowed 2 hours and was glad I did.

Most airports recommend 2 hours.

2 hours for us - US custom lineups out of Toronto can be crazy long to get through

Cheers

2 hours...I'd rather sit around bored, than franticly checking my watch every 12 seconds wondering if I'm going to make my plane. Besides, I enjoy people watching, as well as watching the crews work on the planes between flights.

I voted 1.75. For my home airport (Denver) we leave the house 3 hrs before the flight. Since it takes a bit over an hour to get there, I said 1.75. For Disney, I figure to leave about 2.5 before the flight, figuring on getting there about 2 hours before.

Flying is part of the "adventure" for us. 2-2.5 hours ahead, check-in, go thru security, find something to eat, maybe check out the bookstand, then wait for the fun to begin!

I put 2 hours becuase that is what I allow for MCO and DTW.
However when I fly out of my home airport AZO ( 3 miles from my house) I only allow about 45 mintues or so. We only have 4 gates and only 2 of thoes are true gates. The other 2 are just stairways to the tarmac.

From MCO I like 2 hours. Sometimes the security line is atrocious. I would much rather be there and waiting, than panicking in the security line up.

I voted for 1.5 hours because it was the shortest. In actuality, I aim for closer to 1 hour. I'd much rather spend my time at home or at WDW rather than in the airport.

Airport is about one hour away. Traffic and parking can be an issue...but we've not encountered any problems yet (knock on wood). If we have early morning flights it is a good reason to be early and then enjoy breakfast and people watching!
