We want to go to DL next March and I wanted to know how early I can book the "entertainment rate" at Hojos. ?? Thanks!:)

I'd try to do it as early as possible. We tried to do it a month ahead of our trip (was a last minute trip) and they didn't have anymore spots, or they weren't having it at that time. They only offered us 10% off of their price, which I could get online, so it wasn't a big help. So I'd try and get it booked as soon as they let you. Wouldn't hurt to call and see!

It depends. If they are predicting a busy time where the hotel will fill up over 80% they won't offer it until closer to the date of stay, and then they will only release some rooms at the Ent rate based on regular price bookings.

Other times when they know it is off-season and aren't expecting to be full, they will have the Ent rate available way ahead of time.

An example of this is a couple years ago we called in August to get a good rate over Labor Day (not expecting to get one) and were informed that some Ent rate rooms had just been released because they weren't booked over 80%.

I reserved our room for late November a couple months ago and easily got the Ent rate b/c they traditionally do not expect to be full during that time.

If your dates in March anywhere near Easter or Spring Break period, I would guess they won't be offering the rate, but would encourage you to try back closer to your trip to see if any have been released.

HTH!

I would still check and see ...call them directly and ask how far out they have their entertainment rates for...Now that they do MHT the crowds will be big in Oct and I called a week or so ago to get my rate for the end of Oct. and they had it...doesnt hurt to check...:thumbsup2

Oh it's always a good idea to call and check no matter what. I was just trying to explain why sometimes they offer it and sometimes they don't. :goodvibes

I called six months ahead and got it for this past June! Made my ressies in December of 2006, so I would start calling around August or September!! Remember March though is Easter and main Spring Breaks next year so it will be busy and they may not offer it!

I just called and they do have the ent rate for my dates, but I thought it would be cheaper. For two queens, it's $120.60 + tax per night. Is that a good rate? Maybe I should book it since I can always cancel. With a Disney view, it's $125.10 + tax per night. Maybe I should do that since I don't want to be on the freeway side. I don't know...it must be a deal since it's the entertainment rate. She asked for my ent number, but I just told her I would buy the 2008 book if I decided to book the room - hopefully that's okay to do.

No, that's not an entertainment rate. First of all, did you call the HoJo Anaheim directly? Not the 1-800 number, You need to talk to the local reservations agent. A real ent. rate is $59 for standard or deluxe and $64 for premium. They never ask for an ent number during booking, so I'm guessing you talked to someone in the corporate office.

Call back at this #714-776-6120 and ask to talk with Jennifer Breland. She will help you with the real rate.

Thank you so much. I did call the 1-800# originally so thanks for the in-house phone number and name. I just called and talked with Jennifer and she said those are not out yet but to try back next month. She did say I could reserve now and then if they come out, she could apply the discount to my ressie. She was very nice and helpful so thank you. She didn't sound hopeful for March as "they get a lot of group bookings that time of year". I should've asked what that meant. Hopefully, not the dreaded cheerleader groups (sorry if anyone's child is part of that. I have 3 rambunctious girls and love them but just don't want the added crowds from competitions.)

Great info on Hojo. Thanks DangerMouse. :thumbsup2

Mermaid....if i'm reading this correctly, you'll be calling (to book) 8 mos prior to to arrival? (is this right?)

Thanks.

That's correct! I'm hoping I'll get a 4th night free promo or something next Spring but will book now since it's so easy to rebook or cancel. BTW, I just LOVE being called Mermaid instead of Mermaidwannabe. ;)

I just called to try and talk to Jennifer and I got put on hold for the 1 800 # do I just need to keep trying to get her or will they just keep putting me on hold for the corporate office ?

Thanks

Danger... are you Jennifer??

LOL! I'm actually assuming Jennifer is the manager.

BTW - the advice I received was to call no more than 6 months out, but try and call as early as possible. I also hope there are E rates in March or it looks like we'll be going in Feb or Apr instead...

:lmao: No, I'm not Jennifer. Jennifer's title is "Reservations Specialist" and I have found her very helfpul.

I actually prefer to deal with Willie Simpson. He is the Sales and Marketing Director at the HoJo.
