How early are parks letting guest in and best way to get there

Heading down this Thursday for our Thanksgiving trip. We are rope drop people and will be there as early as possible. I have seen where they are allowing guest into the parks about 45 minutes or so before posted opening. How early are they opening parking lots? Will we get there faster if we take Disney transportation? We will have a car and would rather take that but are not opposed to taking buses if they will get us to the front of the line faster.

They open parking lots about 45 mins before opening, sometimes they open HS a little earlier.
