I have really thin, dry, frizzy hair that's a light mousy brown. It used to be a natural light-ish auburn, but it has faded after time. I've been using semi permanent, non bad stuff color, but found that the color is not "sticking" anymore. So, I picked up bright auburn, made by Feria. I have read some decent reviews about this brand, but then some really, really bad older reviews. Has anyone used this? I'm getting scared....but my hair is looking very blahhhhhh....

I don't recommend Feria hair color (i'm a hairdresser). Everytime I've come into contact with it on my clients it has really damaged the hair and it almost looked "metallic". It was very hard to lift it from this color with highlighting as well. Just my two cents. Some might have good luck with it, I just don't like what I've seen on my clients after it was used. Good luck! :goodvibes

I agree. I used it on my daughter's hair and it turned very brassy. It was also very hard to color over. With your hair's condition I would be very careful of at-home color kits. Get the advice of a pro.

Love Feria. I've been using it for a year now and have been very happy. My hair is in good condition, and my hairdresser even told me to save my $$ and keep doing whatever I was doing when I asked her about professional coloring.

I used feria and it totally dryed my hair out.....
Could barely get a brush through it when I was done...
I think it depends on what type of hair you have but mine is also on the frizzy side so I reccomend staying away from feria... :smooth:

Feria is my favorite haircolor - I have never noticed any drying of my hair.

I thought the Feria color made my scalp very dry and flaky. I have very thick, wavy hair- the color took well, but my hair didn't feel right when I was done so I didn't use it again.

Whatever you use, make sure you get a good heavy duty conditioner made for colored hair. Garnier makes one that I like, it comes in a small jar, and use it religiously, it should smooth down the hair shaft and moisturize it a bit.

I really like Garnier color and Clairol Natural Instincts, they seem to be fairly gentle on my hair.

I can't comment on the color results, since I was very timid and wound up dying my hair essentially the same color.

I will say that my hair had never felt softer or better conditioned after I used it. The conditioner they give you is really good!

I like Feria as well and it hasn't dried out my hair. I also haven't noticed any brassiness in the color. I use French Roast which is brunette.

I think any haircolor can dry out your hair if you don't care for it properly.

Frann- maybe a hairdresser on here can confirm- but I would suggest using a no-peroxide dye and maybe leaving it on for an extra 10 minutes since your hair is not holding the color.
That is what I have to do- I have dark brown hair but my grays are WHITE as snow and it takes more time to get the color to take hold on my grays.
