2 ?'s here.
It's my 1st time at the WDW Resort~BWV, and I have 5 days to fit in some memorable dining experiences, but California Grill ressies girl says it's a bit formal, (no T's or shorts, etc...), so...are we talking ties, hose & heels?
I'd expect that at Victoria & Albert's at GF, but how about Narcoossee's, Ohanas, California Grill, Coral Reef, San Angel Inn...
Okay, as Phoebe on Friends said, "To enjoy fancy things, you have to be fancy on the inside, and I don't think we are!"
But this is our 15 year Anniversary, so I'd like some special dining memories...
Also, do they look down on you at the fancier places for just ordering desert?
There are so many options that I want to try as many as possible!
Thanks guys!

A nice pair of pants/capris and a nice top or a sundress for woman is fine. You can wear shorts/tops..but no tanktops or swim attire. Most people dress a little nicer..but I never have hose on at disney..unless I am going to V&A's. Honestly..if you want a memorable dining experience..go to a restaurant that has more than mediocre food. The fireworks are so much better from mainstreet in the MK. If that is what you are going for. The food definately isn't worth the prices.

The "ressie girl" was wrong. IT's not formal at all. The only prohibitions are tank tops for men, and bathing suits. Shorts and T's are fine--in fact, it's how we have always dressed at CG.
You can certainly dress up if you want to--but you don't need to. You'll find almost all and any kinds of dress at CG, and all the other spots you mentioned.

I was so nervous about it, I've considered cancelling my reservations.
But, yes, I was considering those places for the view of the fireworks. Not a good idea?
I've read that the views are just as lovely and romantic from the beaches at the Poly, GF, etc..
How about the desert question? Do they frown on you for just stopping in for coffee and dessert?

Another pair of old folks, going for our 15th Anniversary to BWV!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Narcosse's and California Grill I would dress up a bit for - dressy shorts and a nice shirt, sundress, capri pants, etc.

Coral Reef and San Angel Inn are in theme parks, so shorts and t-shirts are definately the norm.

Ohana is at the Poly but is very casual, shorts and t-shirts are also the norm here. There are tons of families and little kids. They have conconut races, songs, etc. so the atmosphere is very relaxed.

We've seen the fireworks from CG and from Ohanas and both have great views - very magical expriences! Just get there early, ask for a window seat, and be prepared to wait for one to become available.

We've gone to Cali Gril twice...once in 2000 and once in 2003. Both times I wore a skirt, nice shirt and sandals. In 2003 I was pregnant and wore a khaki skirt, a button down shirt and sandals. DH usually wears a nice, polo shirt and khakis. We enjoy "dressing up" for certain meals...a nice change from shorts/t-shirts and makes the meal feel more special. :)

I trust Uncleromulus.:D Except for V&A , any restaurant at WDW is "theme park casual". For some of the more upscale places you may wish to change out of the clothes you've been wearing all day in the hot sun, but as far as ties/jackets/dresses that is your call.:earsboy:
