How dressed up for V&A???

My newly engaged daughter and I will be having a special V&A dinner the night before she leaves. What is the minimum acceptable level of dress? Are linen pants with a nice top too casual? I would prefer not buying a dress (I live in pants) I would also consider a linen blazer over linen pants if that would be OK.

Men are required to have a jacket (tie optional). They say women should be dressed in proper evening attire. That leaves a lot open to interpretation. I have seen CMs be very judicious with the dress codes, sometimes not enforcing it at all. However, with the atmosphere of WDW top restaurant, I would be inclined to dress up more if not that to be more absorbed in the atmosphere and magic.

I've been to V&A's many times. I think linen pants and a nice top would be fine. It's not like you want to wear jeans or khakies! Although I've always worn a dress I have seen many women wear slacks. There is no reason for you to buy a dress for V&A's ... you'll want to be comfortable while you're enjoying your nice dinner .

I would add the blazer over the pants, unless you are wearing a rather dressy top. JMHO

Mrs. Uncleromulus always wears a nice, light weight pants suit to V&A these days.
A dress is not necessary and the ensemble you describe will be just fine.

Oh keep the ambience going so it adds to the experience. You're eating in a very elegant place and want to enjoy the atmosphere along with the food. Its only one evening. (awaiting our Chef's Table seating during our trip).

Depending on the "dressiness" level of your top--add a wonderful pin, a tiered necklace or a classy scarf. It IS all about dressing up--more (vs. less) is appropriate for this place.
