I plan on going to WDW next month a the day a pin is being released. How does WDW handle this? Are there lines forming at EPCOT, World of Disney, etc. early? Is it form a line or do they pass out bracelets? WHich door at World of Disney do you line up at?

Thanks for any information.

Well it really depends on the edition size. If the edition size is 3000 or less they use a voucher system and lines can develop early if the pin is nice. Over 3000 and it will not be a voucher. Most pins are released park wide now unless they are point specific. And in those cases they tend to be smaller LE like the Aladdin pin released at MK. In any event I hope you have a great trip. :)

Thanks--this will be a very quick trip but I HAVE TO have that pin for DH for Christmas. We're new to this pin trading stuff and really only collect what we like (Peter Pan, Song of the South, Beauty and the Beast and the "older" stuff). We don't really have a lot of pins --I think DH has about 8 and I have 6 or so.

By voucher system do you mean they hand out vouchers to people waiting in line or do you have to go somehwre else to get the voucher? Thanks again.

It's not the size of your collection that matters... It's the enjoyment you get from it that counts... Now as to how they hand out the vouchers... They hand them out on a first come first serve to those standing in line.

Thanks again NHMickey. I've got to have that pin for DH. Of course, since I can't hide a 7 hour trip to WDW from him (even if I do go by myself) he'll know he's getting it for Christmas but not being able to see it until then will drive him CRAZY. (An added benefit for my enjoyment--hehe).

Belle,
Nat has given you a lot of good information about how WDW has released pins in the past but I get the impression from your post that it is one pin in particular that you are interested in. If this is the case we can probably give you more specific information about how and where the release will be handled, thanks to the information that is posted on DizPins. If you want to give us more information, we will try to make sure you get this gift for your husband.

Thanks JOJO_CT. It is the Song of the South pin scheduled for Nov. 12. I just booked a week's stay at WL (hey--if I'm going anyway..........may as well stay for a while). Any help you can give me in securing the pin would be appreciated. Where do I go? How early?

Belle:

Hi! Saw that you are going to be at the WL on November 12th. My family will be there from the 10th to the 18th. May be we can meeting sometime in the Lobby during our stays. Will be glad to try and help you get the pin you want.

Belle,
You should have no problems getting the Song of the South pin. It is a release of 5,000 which means it will be available in large quantities at almost every pin cart on the property. No need to get up early and stand in any line.

Other pins which come out while you are there that should be easy to get are the Beauty and the Beast 10th Anniversary pin and the #1 pin from the new Cartoon Series. These should also be sold property wide. Food and Wine Festival pins should be easy to get, although they are only sold at Epcot. If you get to town on November 11th, you might want to check out Downtown Disney. The Festival of the Masters runs through that date and they might have the logo pin left.

Of course, you should keep your eyes and ears open in case a Mystery Pin makes an appearance, and you MUST stop at the pin cart at the Boardwalk and introduce yourself to Leighton, the CM who is usually manning the cart. He takes very good care of DIS members and will make sure you make the most of your week pin-wise.

Wish I was going to!
Have fun,
Cynthia

Thanks for all the great info. I can't wait. My "first" WDW pin hunt.

I have been crazy enough to be first in line at my TDS for the past several Saturdays to collect the TDS pins to use as "traders".
