How does it all work? And do you pay it all back at the end.. or what? Are the drinks free on the ship? Or is thesmoothies, wines, etc??

How does it all work? thanks :teeth:

Like Magic! :flower:
You give your cc number when checking in. You can go and pay off your balance while on board with cash or what ever. No free wine, beer smoothies

If you order soda from room service or at a bar you will pay for it as well. Soda is free in dining rooms & at drink station on deck 9. Free beer/wine/smoothies, oh I would hate to see the price of the cruise then...

it's like a "credit card". you just charge everything on your kttw card, and pay at the end. we put down our credit card, so we don't have to hassel w/ going to pay it off at the end of your cruise w/cash, or whatever. they just charge it onto your credit card. the only thing is, you need to double check their charges on your kttw card, because sometimes, there's a mistake. we were charged for something (drinks from a bar we know we didn't get) that wasn't ours...and had to talk to guest services...and they had to call all these people to try to figure out the "problem"...but it all turned out ok. and they took it off our bill.

anyways, like the previous poster said, "like magic!" i like that! :flower:

We had a similar problem at the Coronado Springs Resort. When we got our bill, there was a charge from the Wedding Chapel and we hadn't been near there. Traveling with 50 somethings and 80 somethings, weddings werent in our plans. I'm planning on keeping the one I've had for 32 years. He's a gem.

Anyway we called guest services and explained the situation and they took care of it without a problem.

The KTTW cards are a real convenience but you do have to monitor the statements.

BTW, If you have kids with charging priviledges, I would check the statements EVERY DAY to be sure they're staying within their limits.

Absolutely, review those statements. We were charged for a drink at a bar on Castaway Cay that we hadn't gone near. They removed it, no problem. Just think how many people don't look at their statements and get overcharged. So that's how Disney makes so much money! :rotfl:

i don't think you receive a statement everyday. only on the last day. but you can go to guest services and request one everyday on your own! we just went like on tues/wed? just to see how much we've accumulated (from my shopping, mostly!! ha ha)...so it won't be a "BIG SHOCK" when we do get it at the end! good thing we did that, and that's how we found out about the "extra charges". we don't drink, so we knew right away those weren't our charges...but for those who do visit the bars often...i would think it'd be hard to think back & see if it's really yours or not...unless you mark down exactly when you visited the bars, how many you've ordered, etc. :flower:

Unfortunately VERY WELL. While on the ship you use the KTTW to open your door and to unlock your wallet. You get used to getting "stuff" like food for free. You use the card to get off and on the ship. You're used to whipping it out. Then sometimes they ask for your card and you don't think anything of it (because you've taken it out and put it away several times already - this is just another one of those times. If you got 3 or 4 people buying drinks and souvineers throughout the day (watch out for your kids and the smoothies and arcade cards!!) you can be in for a BIG surprise on that last morning of the cruise (disembarkation day). You can tell how much fun you've had by how loud the "Thump" is when your bill hits the floor after you open the door to your room.

KewlxPink, I would make sure your parents check their charges and your charges a couple of time through out the cruise. I definately wouldn't wait until the last night.
Just remember that only one KTTW card can open and close the safe the entire trip.

Actually, all the KTTW cards can open the safe. You just have to use the same card to open it that you last used to close it. I hope that makes sense. In otherwords, if DH closed it last, his card must be used to open it next. But then I can use my card to close it next time, just knowing I must use my card to open it next time, etc. I hope I 'splained that so everyone understands. :confused3

Actually, any card with a magnetic stripe can be used to lock and unlock the safe. It doesn't have to be a KTTW card. When the safe is locked, it just remembers what was on the stripe of the card that was swiped. To unlock the safe, the same card must be used. It is possible to use a different card every time you lock the safe, but that might get confusing. Many people use the KTTW card because you always have it handy while on board.
