How does refunding a Trip work?

I know it's been asked....but if we book a trip and cancel do you automatically lose the $200 deposit? I'm talking about canceling more than 6 mo in advance.

DH is driving me crazy with WDW stuff. I want to book now...he wants to wait until they announce FD for Fall 2010. I told him we can get the discount even if we book now, but he of course doesn't believe that WDW would let you get a discount once you have booked paying full price. UGH!

If you cancell 45 days or more in advance, you get a full refund. I think you only lose $200 if you cancell within 6 days or something.

The 45-day rule applies to packages. If you cancel before the 45-day mark, you get a full refund. If you cancel between 45 days and 6 days prior to your arrival date, you will be refunded all but $100 of what you've paid. Inside of 6 days and you will have all but $200 refunded to you.

If you have a room-only reservation, you will get a full refund of your deposit if you cancel with more than 8 days to go before your arrival date.

If you purchased trip insurance, it is non-refundable.

If you purchased airfare with your package, it is subject to the cancellation policy of the carrier.
