I have about 3 attractions Id like to do in each park. Wondering how I can do this with least amount of walking/backtracking? The fastpass system has me backtracking. Im also usually a runner at park openings but know I wont be able to do this either. And stairs? Im still doing them one at a time (both feet on same stair) especially going down.
I know once I get to WDW the adrenaline will kick in and I'll take off! How do I keep myself down so I continue to heal?
As the doc has told me "your worst problem is keeping you down!"

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

The easy answer to your quesiton is rent an ECV from off-site for the length of your trip. This will allow you to still be the runner, but you will not get worn out. And if you are going to an attraction where stairs are involved, you will bhe directed to an alternate entrance either before you get into the queue or before the boarding area.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including Post #2 where people rent ECVs.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

Please ask yourself the following questions. Here are the suggested answers to go with them.

1. Are you disabled (even temporarily)? Yes.

2. Do the people you are traveling with, such as your family, know you are disabled? Yes.

3. Do you expect to meet anyone you know during this trip who may not know you are disabled. Probably No!

4. Do you expect to meet a bunch of people who you will probably never meet again in your life? Probably yes!

5. Is there any reason at all that you should care what these people think about you? Absolutely No!!

6. Will using a wheelchair or ECV make for a better vacation for you and your family? Absolutely YES!

Chin up and you can do this. Just look at the map ahead of time and use youtube and the maps to plan your route. During the early part of the day there wont be that big of a crowd. CMs will help you if you need it and the fastpass machines are disabled friendly (no stairs). There is no way to avoid back tracking probably. You could take a cell phone with you and inform the party of the time you got then meet them somewhere else. With the ECV you will not be tired and can actually help your party by scooting back to them.

You will do fine as the runner if you do a little planning ahead of time.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
