OK. So I'm wondering. How do you prove your a resort guest for EMH if you are camping? Guests show their room key, right? Or is there a different way? And the children? If it's room keys, I defiantely do NOT want to give my 7 year old a room key! (Not that it would be an issue for campers, but YKWIM?) Now would I want to a bazilliion room keys all day either. And what about the child under 3 with us? Will he have to have any kind of proof of being a resort guest for EMH?

We will have 5 adults and 4 children when we camp. Naturally, we'll be in TWO vehicles. Are 2 cars allowed? Will only 1 car get to park for free and the other have to pay parking?

And I know evrything says there are *comfort stations* nearby. But really....HOW CLOSE are they? LOL!

I know these sound like silly questions, but I can't seem to find the answers anywhere else.

One more thing....is there a list of rules or something I can look over before I make ressies? I just want to be sure it's what I want to do.

TIA!

ETA: What about having things you bought sent back to your resort? Can I do that camping? Where would they go and how would I get them?

You will all get a room key when you check in, those keys are used to get in the bathroom after midnight and to open the gate when you come in with your car.
For EMH, you will need to present the room keys to get your wristbands, so you will ned to have all 9 rooms keys to get the wristbands.
You can get permit for 2 cars, but you can only park 1 car at your campsite.
As far as comfort station the distance will depend on the loop you are in, but they really are never far away.
You can have things sent from the park to the campground, I thinK that thye send them to the Meadow store and you can pick them up there.
Have fun, it is a great place.

So will the child under 3 need a room key also?

There's so much to learn and take in! makes my head spin sometimes. :faint: LOL! :p

Child under 3 generally does not need one and is not given one unless you ask so that you can keep it as a souvenir. Sometimes people do. I love them for souvenirs.

The extra vehicle you can park up front near check in and then take bus back to campsite. Buses go all around the resort area so really nothing is ultra far especially when you can take the bus. Also you can rent a golf cart if you wish, in order to get around the resort quicker. Comfort Stations are not that far apart from each other so their is always one within a close proximaty to your campsite. They are very nice by the way. Showers are large and quite nice. I wish I took pics of them this trip, but we stayed in a cabin and only utilized the comfort station for washing clothes and forgot to take camera with me.

A great source of information about Fort Wilderness can be found at Jeff Spencer's FW FAQ http://fly.hiwaay.net/~jlspence/faq_fw.htm

Most of your questions will be answered there and if there's anything you don't find, just ask here. We all LOVE FW and love talking about it. :goodvibes
