How Does Cypress Pointe compare to Bonnet Creek?

We stayed at Bonnet Creek in March and loved everything about it - the rooms, the space, the proximity to Disney, the pools, etc.
We were just offered a great deal on a three bedroom at Cypress Pointe Resort. How do the two compare? Is Cypress as nice of a resort? It is equally as close to the parks? If you've been to both, please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks so much!

I have stayed at both as well! We stayed at BC in Feb 2009 and CPR March 2010. BC is very upscale compared to CPR, but I actually liked CPR better for location! It was close to restaurants easier in and out access, smaller resort, loved the pools, you could walk to all within 5 mins, and never were the pools overcrowded! The location for SW out the back entrance was wonderful, you are there in 5 mins! I had the choice this year of BC with the same owner as last time, or CPR with the same owner! I chose CPR, I couldn't beat the price! A 3 bdrm for 11 nights, $710. all taxes and fees! They have also done alot of upgrades to the resort! Eithier one would be a good choice, any questions, please ask!

Been to both. Bonnet Creek is obviously newer and 'on' property per se but Cypress Pointe has large units and is in a good location. They have done alot of updating there too. If you have an opportunity for a good price I would say go for it

Cypress Pointe's units seem larger, but not by much. They are older and the resort is much smaller and not as upscale.
If I had the choice, Bonnet Creek would be it.
Newer, larger resort, closer to Disney and free transportation to and from Disney.

I've stayed at both and hands down would go with Bonnet Creek over Cypress Pointe. Cypress Pointe is not nearly as nice for accomodations and the amenities are run down compared to BC. Also, little things like having high speed internet in the room was a clear difference. While both had HS internet, BC allows the connection for free while CP charges you to use the internet in your room. Free phone calls at BC, while CP charges fees even for local calls. I also didn't like that our unit at CP had the lock-out door connection. BC didn't have that in the unit we stayed in. At Cypress Pointe, we were able to hear the guests staying in the lock out portion throughout our stay. Some of which, we needed to leave our 2/2 unit to avoid the children from being exposed to!!

If you have the ability, I'd go with Bonnet Creek over Cypress Pointe. CP is in a very convenient area, but BC just has a much safer and luxurious feel to it.

We just got back from another quick trip up to Orlando and I got a great deal booking into Cypress Pointe Grande Villas again, so I took advantage of it. Can I just have my above post deleted?? LOL

We were super fortunate to be the 1st family to stay in a renovated 2/2 unit and OMG!! That is one really nice unit! We rented it for a week and, hopefully, we'll have a chance to go back and enjoy it a bit more before we are supposed to check out, but if not, it was still more than worth the couple nights we had staying there!

This is our first trip back to the Disney area since last month when we stayed at Windsor Hills and I really enjoy staying in the resorts. With the upgrades in the rooms, it definitely made Cypress Pointe Grande more attractive and competitive when it comes to resorts, even with Bonnet Creek. Bonnet Creek is still definitely nicer overall, but CP is easier to find better rental rates on and it's super close to DTD, so that's a huge plus. Anyway, wanted to tell you about all the renovations. We were told the unit we stayed in is getting a new tv and I believe they said a new washer/dryer next month as well:) :woohoo:

How are you booking Cypress Pointe? Website? Directly with owner?

Haven't stayed in either. BC is much newer. BC is in the middle of WDW. Cypress Pointe is closer to SW, offsite restaurants and stores.

HI there, If you just returned, can you tell me if they are doing all of the grandvillas side? We are booked at the villas instead of the resort this time, just wondered what you thought! Also, any updating to the internet situation? We had no problem on the Resort side last year, but my brother couldn't get internet on the villas side last year! Any pictures please add! Should there be one I am requesting, cause I still haven't put a request in yet! Thanks so much!

My review of Cypress Pointe Grand Villas probably doesn't answer your questions specifically, but if you're interested in reading my review, here's the link to the thread. I stayed there 11/6/10 - 11/13/10.

Usually if I have a stay of a week or longer I'll rent from a timeshare owner. I have to say, though, if you are doing a shorter stay Cypress Pointe has some fabulous retail deals on Expedia right now // $ 131 a night for a two bedroom.

Actually if you go to diamond resorts international and put in cypress pointe grand villas as your search, fill out the dates you are looking for and put RWB in the rate section, I am getting prices of $79 for a 1 bdrm and $109 for a 2bdrm! I thought that wasn't bad!

I always book with the owners. I didn't even know you could book the resorts on Expedia! LOL

I'll have to see if we even had a chance to get pics. We were there for just a couple days and I didn't get the camera out much. I know that I saw a lot of washers/dryers in the "A" building on the grand villas side getting ready to be put in, so I think it's a total renovation of the villas side. We stayed in the "F" building and our unit was done, but the 2 floors below us had not been done yet. The internet connection still wasn't available in our room on this trip, but I'm hoping it'll be available eventually. That is a big downer simply because Wi-fi is available pretty much anywhere now and I think most guests would expect it to be available to them in their condos.

The appliances in the kitchen are really nice now:) Black and stainless steel, the master bed had a feather bed duvet on it. The bedding is all new, the furniture was all new, the carpeting and drapes were all new. Very neat to experience being the first even though I would have objected had I known ahead of time. My kids are "imp-a-loompas" and made sure to get into every thing there was to get into. I spent more time trying to "save" the newly renovated condo FROM my kids than I did exploring it. LOL

Thanks happylittlefamily, I sure hope they have internet as well when we get there, it is such a downer that they don't! I have always booked through an owner as well, and have gotten some great prices! I only at Diamond because we have friends that have decided to join us, and any owners I have contacted only have 1 bdrms left, they have 2 kids, so that won't work! Oh well, I will hope it is all done by the time I get there! Thanks for the info!

I've stayed at both and liked both. Bonnet Creek was/is my favorite by far, but I thought CPGV had a lot of good points (one of them being that I paid $300 for the week for a 2/2 ;)).

My main issue with CPGV would have to be the second bedroom. With WBC, you have two full size beds in the second bedroom and plenty of room. If I remember correctly, CPGV had two twins (and CPR only had a twin and a trundle). That would be a big factor to me.

The 3BR at CPGV should be very large. It just depends on how you're planning your sleeping arrangements.

As far as location goes, I don't really see there being that much difference either way. JMHO

Since happylittlefamily said about Cypress Pointe

I was actually curious to know if my unit had been refurbished yet, since my experience was quite different. I called Cypress Pointe and found out that the building I stayed in at the Grand Villas (Porpoise Cay) has yet to be refurbished. So maybe your level of "luxury" will depend on the building you stay in.

I edited my review with this information.

Are there any requirements to use the RWB code? I just did a search for the times my wife and I are going and they look pretty good. Just want to make sure I'm eligible to use that rate code.

Yes anyone can use that code! When I did the search, Diamond Resorts had that in there already! I called Cypress Pointe and asked them before having my friends book through this, and they said it was totally legit, and not many people know about it!
Just an FYI
