How does breakfast Be Our Guest work?

I'm so gutted - we got an 8am ADR at BOG partly because we wanted to but mostly to get into the park before RD. Just found out today that they have extended the MK hours from 9am open to 8am open. Josh on easywdw advises cancelling 8am ADRs as now pointless - sooooo sad! Our plans for the whole day are based on it being a 9am open arghhh!

So, just wondering how the breakfast ADRs work? What time are you allowed in the park before an ADR and how much earlier before the ADR can you show up?

Also, how does BOG breakfast work? I know you can pre book your food choices - is the food ready and waiting for you when you arrive or do you still have to wait for it?

Do you pay at the start of the meal like a quick service, or at the end like a table service meal? I'm just wondering how quick we can make the meal, which is a massive shame as I was looking forward to having 50 mins ish to enjoy and take our time.

Thanks

The same thing happened to me. I am now trying to get an ADR for a different day. From what I understand, it is quicker if you pre order because you do not have to wait at the ordering kiosks. Your food is not waiting when you get there, but is brought to you a few minutes after you pay. You pay for the food first like any other qs location. I would try for a different day if you can, it is a waste of an early ADR with extra magic hours. They generally let you in about 7:45

Thank you. It is the only day we can do sadly

Do they let you into MK at 7.45am or for the meal at 7.45am? I'm sure the park is open earlier for people who have 6.30 ADRs, but I'm wondering do they not let you into the park until close to your ADR time?

We've always been let into the Magic Kingdom around 7:45-7:50am for an 8:00am ADR. I believe that 8:00am is the earlier reservation available inside the MK (at least to my knowledge).

The reason why I wondered if it was earlier was because the MDE app has the option to start hunting for a table at 6.30am

I *think* there are restaurants open that early, but not inside the MK. I know that one year over Christmas holidays we had a 7:00am ADR at 'Ohana, but it's at a resort.
Sorry the park hours changed on you. Hope you can work around it and still do breakfast/lots of rides early. We have an 8:05am for late August, but there doesn't seem to be any hours changed for late August ... yet...

I can answer a couple of your questions...

When you preorder, your meal is not waiting but ours only took about 10 minutes. You confitm your order at a kiosk after arriving using your magic band. You pay before you eat. Took us about 30 minutes to eat breakfast but I rushed everyone through. We were let in park at 7:50 but park opening was at 9.

Thanks everyone. Do you get shown to a table or do you find your own empty table like at a normal quick service meal?

At $20 per person for the breakfast, it seems like a shame to scarf it down in 10 minutes. I would probably just cancel BOG and be ready at the 8 RD.

The thing about summer and Christmastime is, you have to be prepared for this to happen. Is it frustrating? Absolutely 100%. But it's always a possibility.

We were time change victims, too :sad1:

We wanted to try the breakfast, but no way am I missing prime touring time first thing in the morning. We just rescheduled our breakfast for 9:45 and adjusted the time on a couple of FPs. That way, we can tour during the first hour and a half, go eat, and then go do more rides and use our FPs.

I would suggest looking for a later time or cancelling. We had to cancel a Crystal Palace for our other MK day because of the hour change as well. It's disappointing, but the meals aren't worth missing park time and low wait times, in my opinion.

More importantly though...have an awesome vacation!!

If pre-ordering, after you have checked in and they lead you in, you find your own table. Once you sit your MagicBand or Rose will notify the kitchen you are there and seated ... then the food will find it's way to you. (that's assuming no glitch in pre-order)

By time you get your food and eat you will have lost valuable shorter line time. The masses will have caught up to you. If you really want to eat there I would try to move your time to around 10-10:30. That way you could utilize the shorter lines then stop for a breakfast break. That is what we did and it worked out really well.
