How does Atlantica compare to Wet & Wild, Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach?

I've only been to W&W and Typhoon Lagoon years ago. A friend is going down to FL next week and was looking for advice on which water park. They are not staying at WDW and may or may not do one of the Disney parks for a day or two. But they definitely want to do a water park day. If you had to pick one, which one would you choose?

I think you mean AQUATICA well aquatica is a decent size, their slides are pretty cool.. the design is great and colorful(the added bonus is the commersons dolphins ) Dolphin plunge is the big attraction there because you can slide through the dolphin pool through a glass or arcylic slide through.. They also have other animals and a big wave pool, the lazy river which goes through the dolphin exhibit if your slide shy.. and the rapids which i think is awesome..lol I guess it depends, I went to Aquatica and believed that the $40 was worth it.. But bring LOTS of SUNSCREEN you will get burned.. i suggest you check out their website:

For us Aquatica is a more themed version of Wet'n Wild (i.e. slighly less concrete), it doesn't really compare to the either of the Disney water parks.

As the kids have grown older we only buy the Universal flex tickets and tend not to do much Disney - except we *always* have to have a day at Typhoon. Its the highlight of the holiday. And we really miss Blizzard.

Aquatica makes a nice break, the kids fun park is awesome, the headline dolphin slide overrated and not worth the queue. For the Disney parks and teenagers, Blizzard has the better rides but we found longer queues, Typhoon has more natural landscape and of course the monster waves.

The nice thing is all the water parks have their different vibes and which is best really depends on family age.

we loved BB & Tl last summer. we were planning on hitting Aquatica on Fri afternoon this week but it looks like it might be too cold down there even for us yanks to be swimming. Hopefully one day over our trip we'll be able to see aquatica.

How is Wet n Wild?

Wet'n Wild has no landscaping and is really a concrete park, but is compact, well laid out and has a great range of slides. Its traditionally the first park we visit first day in resort - after an early breakfast over the road at the Western Steer.

Less for youngsters/toddlers to do though and Aquatica wins on that count.
