How do you wear your hair at the parks?

Do you get it cut short; wear ponytails; stuff it under a hat; curl it and make it beautiful (this will be muggy June for me) or just let it flow naturally? :goodvibes

I'm really toying with getting my hair cut to just under my ears but my girlfriends say it would be easier to keep it long (it's shoulder length right now) and tie it back.

What do you do with your hair?

I've given up trying to look cute at WDW. OK, I'll start out cute, but by dinnertime, I'm a mess...lol. I usually pin my hair back with a clip and hope for the best. I think I'll buy a hat next trip and just wear that all day. It couldn't look any worse!!! And I don't know why I even bother with makeup...it's all melted off in a few hours anyway.

I'm amazed when I see the women at the parks with their heels and pounds of makeup. That will never be me.

I always get my hair braided before going on vacation. That way it's easier to deal with and I don't have to worry about it getting wet. :woohoo:

I have wild curly hair, to the middle of my back. The first day I wore it half up with a clip and half down - I put lots of product in it and it was ok by the end of the day. I then did a ponytail - again lots of product. I also did regular pigtails and pigtail braids (I think the pigtail braids worked the best). I also bought a hat and wore a hat once. Good luck! Have fun!

Last time we went, it was January, so I could wear it down, but this time it will be August and I plan on pony-tails everyday with my visor so I don't :faint: !!!

My hair is straight, and hangs to about my shoulder blades right now (I grow it for locks of love, so it varies from chin length to the middle of my back).

If I'm wearing a baseball hat, I either do a single pony tail, or braid that pony tail and pull it through the hat.

If I'm wearing my "boonie hat" (it's a floppy hat like hikers wear), I'll usually do two separate pig tails. I used to do a french braid, but it lays on my neck and makes me too hot.

For my upcoming Ft. Wilderness trip, I've decided to go with my standard camping hairstyle and do bunches of bahama braids. This ends up being the coolest for me, and I just wash my hair while it's braided. That keeps it wet for most of the day, cooling me off even more. It takes some time (about 2 hours), but it's well worth it!

I'm 90% sure mine will be in a ponytail. It will be June and hot hot hot and I hate my hair touching the back of my neck anyway. I am going to try to find some new cute hair clips though. :goodvibes

I have shoulder lenth hair and I try every morning to make it look nice. But then the humidity gets to it and I don't know why I even bothered. So it ends up in a ponytail. It looks even better after a ride down Splash Mountain--ha, not! I figure eveyone else is in the same boat and since I can't see myself, I can't get too upset! :rotfl2:

I have long curly hair and I will be wearing it up in a high ponytail. I've had long hair awhile now, and in New York I was able to blow dry it straight most of the time because the humidity was not a factor. Here in Florida it was a losing battle. I gave up and let it do it's thing. But in WDW, it will be in a pony.

Hi Kitty,
I have long thick hair and when I go to the parks i usually throw it up in a pony but some other times I just leave it when I get out of the shower. Just put a gel or a frizz control in it so the humidity doesnt make it crazy OR you can just buy a pair of ears and wear them around the park :earsgirl: but I wouldnt cut it just because your going away... unless you really want to

I hate how frizzy my hair is (it's pretty long, too), and I straighten it with a flat iron after every washing--even at WDW. Then I just put it in a ponytail!

Pony tail...usually with a ball cap to keep the Florida sun off my face as much as possible! :sunny:

my hair is long and wavy to the middle of my back and when it gets wet it get frizzy and incredibly curly so i wear it in two pigtail braids. it works the best for me and keeps my hair out of my face. plus its easy to re-do when it comes out or gets wet. :cool1:

my hair (mid-back length) is straight @ home but, get me to the beach or WDW & it suddenly becomes a funky, wavy mess.

If it's during the rainy period, it goes up under my jungle-commando hat.

If we'll be swimming, it goes in a french braid (think pony tails on anyone over the age of 10 is too pippy longstocking LOL).

Also, big on bun high on head w/tendrils & fake hair scruncie to hold it, for a more dressed-up dinner look.

My hair is long (about mid way down my back), I just tie it back in a pony tail and go.

I let mine go natural (curly) and shove it under a hat. I don't fight the natural hair just go with the flow. I don't even pack makeup to take with me. We are going in June and I know that the makeup will be melted off just waiting for the bus at the resort. :lmao:

My hair is meduim length. If it's not too hot I'll just wear it down, but if the humidity is high I put it in a ponytail with one of my Disney pony holders (yes I'm THAT lame, I have Disney ones just for WDW!) My daughter has long hair and it goes up/down depending on the weather, her mood, etc. I have to say I never worry too much about how my hair looks, I'm usually having too good a time!!

ENJOY!!

I have very thick blonde hair and if I don't use the flat iron it will look like straw in the september humidity at WDW. It is halfway down my back now but I might cut it befoe we go. If I leave it long it will be in a pony tail during the day at least.

I too get up and fix hair and face, go to the parks and do the picture thing, and then after about an hour no make-up is left and hair, that is naturally flat, is straight and stringy. the bad thing for me is I have bangs, so what does everyone who has bangs do with their bangs? I usually put hair up in a ponytail after it falls and then if it starts to rain I will put a hat on and not worry about the bangs. I teach pre-K at the church so our year ended last week so I am thinking about letting them grow out and do the side bangs even though my mom always reminds me I need bangs, got to love her! Also how many of you come home and look at the pictures and think OMG I look horrible! :lmao:

I have very straight and fine hair..though I have a lot of it. I've worn it long as well as short in Disney. Pony tail is easiest and most convenient when you can pull it back. When I have it short i dont have to do anything to it. I'm going in August and most likely will be chopping it all off. But that's my preference. In the summer a hat or visor is a must. Go with whatever makes you most comfortable.
Have a great time.
