How do you travel with Magic Bands?

I carried them in my carry-on and we put them on when we landed in Orlando since we needed to scan them for the Magical Express bus. I was worried the kids would play with them and lose them on the plane.

You can do whatever you want with them. Carry them, take the box, take them out of the box and put them in a bag, wear them, whatever. Airport scanner won't matter.

We just received our Magic Bands by mail. I apologize if this is a stupid question but how do we travel with them? Do we take the whole box (there are 4 bands) or each of us wear ours? Will the airport scanner be ok with the bands? Should I just put the box in my carry on? Last year we had the bands waiting for us at the resort so that's why I'm asking. Again forgive my ignorance... TIA

I just tossed mine in my purse and we put them on before we got off the plane. Next time we will just put them on at home before we go to the airport. I don't think they will be a problem in the airport with the scanner, and if they were, you would just take it off, toss it in the in and put it back on after the scanning business. There is definitely no reason to take the box with you and waste all that space in your carryon, they aren't going to get damaged if they are loose in a bag or anything

I'm just curious, because I have a Magic Band already, but what if you're picking up your first Magic Band at the resort? How do you get on the ME bus without a Magic Band in that case? Do you just use the paper one they send with your ME packet?

we put them in our carry on and as we're waiting to get off the plane, we put them on. =)

Yes, they still send that. I didn't even know they were used to get on DME on our last trip. I remember I had the paperwork in hand when the lady let me know we just needed to tap one of our bands.

We put ours in our carry on and then as the plane was descending we put them on.

This might be a stupid question but I can't get a concrete answer anywhere:

I'm visiting WDW in May as the third stop on an extended vacation. I get that I'll want my Magic Band in my carryon for my flight to Orlando, but can I put it in my checked luggage for my two flights before that?

Just want to make sure there's nothing in the RFID that sets off security or that'll get damaged by the screeners for checked luggage.

Yes you can place it in your checked luggage.
