How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?*Final Thoughts & Farewells* 10/7 p100

The cake was delicious!!! Everything was edible and made from cake, fondant, or chocolate... :lovestruc the camera was chocolate (white maybe?) and I know that someone :rolleyes1 had requested that particular component ;) The thought of a cake for ME came to mind after I arranged one for my boss's daughter's (Ashley) 16th birthday celebration at California Grill in February. I scoured the cake thread and found a cute Mad Hatter design for his daughter. We found the perfect cake for Ashley on the thread and Brian at the Contemporary was amazing :thumbsup2 (they were all so nice at Private Dining:goodvibes) She really thought it was from the Cake Boss :rotfl2: The pictures of Ashley's were beautiful but I really wanted to taste that cake!!! I had been dying to see what fondant tasted like...not great but actually just what I had imagined....sweet, sweet, sweet ;) We had several emails back and forth discussing design, flavors, etc and Cynthia took care of talking to was it the Boardwalk private dining I think? :confused3 All I remember is that it was full of chocolately goodness :cloud9: I know Melissa has ordered some cakes from different resorts too and had great success....they really do a fantastic job.

I can only imagine how much scheming went into that cake! You guys did a great job. I remember how cool the mad hatter cake was. This was even better!!!! STRONG WORK GIRLS!

I have no idea what the rest of us did after Remy..I guess to the quiet pool :confused3 Anyone else remember? Maybe I was off somewhere cradling my new perfume bottle?! :rotfl2: I am fairly certain we did go to the quiet pool as it had become our afternoon ritual. :thumbsup2 How I could go for a dose of pool drinks and BC today :cloud9:

Tracy :

:rotfl2: Cradling your perfume bottle - OMG - you probably were. :lmao: Seriously, I think you all went noodling at the quiet pool because I'm pretty sure we didn't see you guys again until dinner.

Who do you contact for the cake? When we go to WDW in May, 2012, it will be my son's birthday and I would love to get him something like this. What a great surprise!

I believe Cynthia ordered it from the Boardwalk Bakery. Hopefully she will stop by soon and spill the specific details or go ahead and pm her. I think she might be in Whistler now, but she's out there. They did a great job with setup and delivery. So festive. They even left a big knife to cut it with and it all came up on a big tray that we could leave outside for room service to clean up.

Your pictures of the flowers are beautiful, MEK. I love the purple ones -- so pretty.

What an absolutely amazing cake. And what a wonderful friends to surprise you with it. :thumbsup2

That honestly has to be one of the coolest cakes I've ever seen!!! What an amazing birthday surprise!! I love how representative of you it is!

I've never actually been to SAB (when we stayed at YC, it was SO cold that week!), but it always looked fun!

Just getting caught up with the last couple updates. I love that cake, the details are great, especially that camera strap! My Dad had one just like it for his video camera back in the day :)

That cake was amazing, hope that it tasted as good as it looked.

That pool looked interesting, I like the fact that it was a pool made to be like a beach.

They were really pretty flowers. So festive!

What an absolutely amazing cake. And what a wonderful friends to surprise you with it. :thumbsup2

It was truly an amazing cake! Way beyond my imagination. I  it!

It really was super cool. Whoever made that cake is super talented. They aren't just a great baker, but also an artist. I could NEVER do that!

I've never actually been to SAB (when we stayed at YC, it was SO cold that week!), but it always looked fun!

That's right - it was downright arctic when you were there! That's a bummer to be staying at the right resort, but never get to try the pool. Oh well - you'll get back there again. And right now arctic temperatures sound pretty good. :rotfl:

I strap detail is great. How retro. Very cool that your dad had one like that. I wish they would make them again. I would totally buy that for my camera!

That cake was amazing, hope that it tasted as good as it looked.

Oh - it certainly did. The cake was moist and unbelievably tasty! I am a buttercream frosty kind of gal and often the actual cake is secondary. With this cake it was all about the inside! So good!

That pool looked interesting, I like the fact that it was a pool made to be like a beach.

SAB is really an amazing pool. That was my only afternoon there, so I really didn't get to explore it as much as I would have liked.

The Heat Index is already 100 degrees at 10:15am and I definitely don't have any plans for the day other than to stay cool. I feel like its a snow day because I'm not going outside until I need to. Well - I actually did run at 7am. And I cut some flowers about a 1/2 hr ago. And tonight we have a grad party to attend. But other than that I am chillin', so I decided to post some of the Rehoboth Beach pix I took about a month ago. Not my iphone pix - my real pix. They should be done uploading very soon.

Think Beach. Think Cool Ocean Breeze. Think refreshing water! Hopefully these pix will help you cool off!

Oh those pictures are just stunning!!! please remind me to revisit those in January when it is 5 degrees out and everything is so bleak.

You are a talented photographer!!!!

The cake was beautiful, what a bunch of thoughtful friends you have!!!

Love all the beach pictures. I have a childhood friend that now lives in Rehoboth beach. I would love a breeze right about now but a cool breeze ot the hot oven breeze we get on occasion.

As for heat, heat index is 99 here my car said 100 and it is just miserable out. You are a better woman than I as I did not run but I did get the essential errands done. I will ry to slowly get soke busy work done in the house but nothing strenuous.

Cool pictures!! They are so artistic - like what you'd see on a cool card or framed!!!

I love the one of the single adirondack chair!

Great pictures, MKE. They are making me wish I was at Marco Island right now and not two months and a week from now.

I love the birds -- or should I sya, "Mark's bird friends?"

I've had little DIS time this week, so I am just now seeing the cake. What sweet friends!

Your beach pictures were so nice to see. Thanks for sharing!
I'd love to go and see inside some of those cute houses. :)

Love the beach pictures!

Also: that cake looked amazing!

It is too hot here. Too hot for typing.

Oh my goodness, Mary Ellen! What I wouldn't give to be at the beach right now after looking at your pictures! Just gorgeous!

Wow love all the beach pictures! :cloud9:

I can't imagine it ever being very hot in Manchester though we did get a little but of sunshine yesterday and enjoyed a day out!

I love your birthday cake! :lovestruc What kind of cake was it, it looks so good! I really want to do a special cake like that for something, maybe if Brandon and I go for our anniversary! :)

I loved SAB when I stayed at BC, but it wasn't too crowded when we went in, if it was, I don't think I would have liked it as much. I can't do crowded pools. As much as I love WL, and I really like the pool area, I think the main pool is a little small for such a big resort. :confused3

Great beach pics! I hope it cools off soon, I can't deal with the heat like this! :cool2:
