There aren't any good pin trading bags online I can see.

Have any of you tried making your own?

Or do you have any more novel ideas?

I havent got mine stored in a very good way at all.... in my drawer LOL. But i am wanting a better way to store them. I've heard about a book/album but havent managed to find one but i've also heard people mention framing cork boards and putting them on that. I havent been collecting for very long though.

ooh no i dont but i'll take a look now thanks. I also have a couple of lanyards but... if you wear your fave pins on them people would mistake you for wanting to trade them wouldnt they? Or can you just say you dont want to trade them?

I never had guests ask to trade pins. A couple of people though I was a CM though. Lol.

I only traded with CMs and I always initiated it, and they never mind which pin you give them. But people would totally understand that you would have keepers on there, especially at the end of the day!

I thought they got to choose what pin they wanted?

I'm still not very clued up about pin trading.

Nope, all my trading went as follows:

Me: Can I see your pins please?
CM: Of course.
Me: Oooh, please can I havethis one?
CM: Of course.
Me: Is this one ok to trade?
CM: Of course!

There was one hardcore lady in the Studio one shop who pointed at which one she wanted to look at then inspected it very throughly, and then traded, but I was taking a hidden mickey cast lanyard series one from her. Of Jasmin, it's lovely.

I have a pinboard that i keep mine on. It's grey felt and has a silver surround so looks fairly classy compared to the standard cork board. I also find the grey background lets the pins stand out best.

I bought it online from a place called Moores message boards - here i think they sell direct and via ebay (i bought direct)

Think it was about £20. and took 3 days delivery.

I have to admit, I've never gotten into the whole pin trading thing. When we were last in Florida I quite fancied the idea, but didn't see the point as I knew I wouldn't be back for years and years and loving WDW didn't think I'd ever go to DLP. Then when we went in June, like I said earlier, I didn't realise it went on at DLP, but might look into starting when we go back in January. I would imagine they'll have some beautiful ones at christmas. I got my DD a gorgeous pin in Florida. She loved Princess Jasmine at the time and it's a round one which opens up and has a mirror inside. It's got Jasmine's palace on the front and is all glittery, very pretty and I'm very pleased to say she's still got it pinned to her corkboard in her bedroom :)

My pins haven't come out of their packets yet!! I'm putting them in our scrapbook when I get round to making it!

i so cant wait to make a scrapbook lol it will be a never ending novel LOL

I've never traded the pins, I only buy the ones that are significant to each trip we make (although how I've forgotten AGAIN to get the Santa Fe pin I'll never know!)
I think I bought around 10 this time, mainly of rides we went on, a Newport Bay Club pin and two for the Tower of Terror because I couldn't decide which one!
I'm still looking for the best way to display them, still going along the cork board idea.

Yeah, when I was there I just bought keepers.

But its fun to buy some random cheap ones on eBay and exchange them for rare/WDW/older ones with CMs.

I think I might buy like a grab bag of 25 (about £40 on ebay) before I go, then it gives me loads for each day. :)

Have any of you seen the pin trading boards in the park?

I only caught it once in fantasyland, but it was awesome!!

Well, occasionally, at the pointson the map where you see the pin trading logo, there will be a CM with a HUGE board covered in pins. And you can trade 2 of them for 2 of yours.

Theres a couple of rules like you cant put a pin on the board thats only on there, and you cant go to th board more than one a day, but its great to have such a huge choice.

wow that sounds well cool. Shall look out for that next time. Thanks for sharing Victoria :)

We saw a pin board outside the ice cream shop at the castle end of Main Street.

I have to say that the CM there was really nice and he did let my daughter (age 6) give a double. She'd just bought a starter set and both of the pins on there were already on the board, but he said it was fine and let her trade anyway. He also gave her an extra pin (cast lanyard one) which was really nice :lovestruc

Always a pleasure - are you on pinpics? What is your pin collecting theme?

Mine is princesses and Minnie (and Mickey if he makes a set with a specific Minnie one I have)
