hi: The resale contract was submitted to Disney for ROFR on 2/18. Other contracts have passed on 2/20, but I haven't heard a thing. It seems to be taking around 10-12 days based on Donald's thread. Did anyone who used the Timeshare Store get any phone calls or e-mails keeping them updated? Sorry, the other contracts we have were purchased directly from Disney so there wasn't a wait.

When we purchased a resale from TTS---
we were given an about closing date.
We waited about a week after that to hear something from them --
never did get a call - we called TTS and we were told we closed
" a few days ago " - not good customer service !

When we added on with Disney ---- PERFECT !

:cool1:

I received an e-mail from TTS when ROFR was waived, and then again when I closed. I agree that they could have been a little more proactive in their communication though. I would have appreciated confirmation e-mails when they received my deposit and final documents. All in all though it was a pretty smooth process.

When I just closed with the TSS on 2/2, I kept in contact with them through the process and always got a great response.

I emailed my rep weekly to see if she had heard something. She told me that it was no issue and it took about 20 days to pass.

As far as the other documents, I did get confirmation when I passed ROFR, got an email telling me that closing was to occur, and one when I closed.

I also got confirmation throughout but it could have to do with the fact that I asked for email confirmations when I mailed things in.

If you are nervous, contact your rep. I was told that they usually receive them in batches and most times, once a week. That helped me relax a bit. If I knew that contracts had come in that day, and mine wasn't there, I at least let it go for a week.

First, I'm sending extra pixie dust your way that you hear something soon! pixiedust:

Within reason, no matter where you buy, the communications can be excellent, or less than perfect. I'm sorry it has been less than perfect for you. It's frustrating for new buyers, especially when they don't understand the process, or someone hasn't explained it to them. I think timeshare companies should outline the process so all buyers understand the milestones, and the broker and buyer can set realistic expectations around notification (e.g., I would like you to notify me by phone when my documents go to Disney for ROFR, when Disney passes on or exercises ROFR, and when I close).

We have purchased three contracts through resale. The process was always the same, and the time line matched almost to the day. So much of the time line depends on how quickly you and the seller turn around the paperwork, and how long Disney takes on ROFR.

Here was our time line on two of our contracts (two different sellers, same resale company). I hope it helps ease some of the anxiety, and helps you know when to start calling! :thumbsup2

* Made offers through GMAC on 1/9, and offers were accepted same day.
* Paid downpayment of $100 per contract with credit card on 1/9.
* Contracts went to Dis for ROFR on 1/16.
* Passed ROFR on 1/31.
* Estoppels came back to GMAC on 2/17. This allowed the title company to prepare the closing docs.
* Received closing docs on 2/20. Returned everything to GMAC on 2/21.
* Deed was recorded through Orange County on 3/7.
* We were in Disney's system 3/14, and could book a reservation.

We just signed our contract yesterday with the Timeshare Store. Now our waiting begins... We however did receive an email saying our signed contract was received (by fax). I emailed our agent to get him to let us know when he receives our deposit. Good luck with your contract!
