Be aware that teams can be split (can happen for any number of reasons - different schedules, a promotion, the needs of the ship, etc. - so it's better to state a preference order so that they know which one you would prefer to have. Otherwise they won't know which one is more important to you and might assign you to the one that was less important - or may just not assign you to either because they don't know.

And of course, they could be on vacation or have been moved to another ship.

Great tip! I deliberately kept my gratuity stubs from our cruise on the Fantasy last September so we can request the same serving team when we go again this November.
