How do I go about renting points from a DVC member?

Read the rental forum here in the DVC section - you can reply to owners offering their points for rent.

If it's for a trip within 7 months, you can rent from any owner's points - you'll just want to cross your fingers that there's a room available.

If it's for a trip more than 7 months away, you should have a better chance at getting a room - but you'll need to cross your fingers in finding an owner renting points from the resort at which you want to stay.

This is assuming I didn't misread your post that you wanted a room in the DVC portion as opposed to the regular room portion. If that's the case you can rent from any owner, but the regular rooms will cost you a lot of points.
