I prefer all in one thread, BUT with the page updates listed in the title. Like with vettechick's reports. It makes it much easier to find the new posts within the thread.
I like all in one thread. If a report has more than a few different parts, it can be hard to find them all, since each time someone replies to one part, they get all out of order.
I'm surprised that so many people like one thread- it drives me crazy to have to skim through 400 posts saying "thanks for sharing" or "great trip report"!
Either way writers need to use more paragraphs and spaces!
I like all in one thread - I just scan down looking for the OP's name for updates. I also like the ones with links. It's the ones that are just a bunch of unlinked separate threads that have driven me so crazy in the past that I now don't read them...which stinks, because I love trip reports.
One report is nice since the reader doesn't have to spend time searching threads for the subsequent report. But I will admit, if the report is really good I don't mind searching for the followups. Other things I like to see in trip reports are DATES - I like to have it spelled out ... Tuesday, March 21.
DRAMA - I don't know why but it's fun to read about other people's conflict, even when it's something small like bad service at a restaurant. I don't care for the reports where everything was perfect. JMA
I agree. I guess I have a short attention span. If it's a long trip report it really doesn't matter to me if it is one long thread or multiple ones. I enjoy reading about others experiences, but not if it turns into a novel.
I like all in one thread, but maybe they could add on the first page the post numbers where you can find teh next "episode".
I don't really like to read dozens of posts saying "great report", especially when I have not that much time but am still dieing (sp?) to read the next part!
I also like them funny and detailed, with pictures, especially of what people ate!
