How Do you pay for your vacations?

We go to Disneyland every year, planning to see WDW when DH graduates.

Tax refund
ING savings (stopped going out to eat, stayed out of Target, started major couponing again)

Selling all my extra books at half price book store (I do this twice a year - mostly romance novels that I get at rummage sales or books left behind in my apartment lobby)

Earned Disney Dollars, checks and gift cards thru various email/shopping programs/surveys.

Air miles paid for plane ticket for me one year.

I charged for my upcoming fall DL trip :guilty: .. waiting for property tax refund to arrive to pay it off plus working to sock more away in savings. :teeth:

I'l, say nursing sure does have it's perks, if it weren't for nursing I would have had to pay back all the loan plus the interest on some of those disney trips. But I'm a nurse so all is forgiven :flower:

I pay my whole vacation off with my inheritance check that comes every March. Both my parents loved Disney and as a family we have some wonderful memories of our trips to the world so it seems fitting for my husband and myself to go to disney and remember the happier times when both my parents were alive. Also whoever suggested they were planning a trip to Vegas, the planning just isn't the same like planning on a trip to disney. We chose to go to vegas for my birthday and I just can't get excited about this trip, if it wasn't for the airline tickets being paid for already I would cancel the whole thing...

Plan something FUN while you're there!

Go to one of the Cirque shows- I think that there are at least 4 or 5 by now.

We've seen 2 there, and they're all so unique and different from anything else- even another Cirque show.

Catch one of your fave entertainers (if they're playing there).

We went last Labor Day and had a great time! And had a spare couple of days to run into LA to see family!

The other side of the coin is- the sooner it gets here, the sooner it's over and you can plan for your next Disney trip.

HTH!

After the monthly bills get paid, that is what the paycheck is FOR.

The WDW is tip money i get from pouring beer at second job. I consider as found money that does not on my paycheck.

All other paychecks go for bills alone and save moeny for a problems if rise.

We also get paid bi-weekly and have two "extra" checks per year. One we use all for Christmas-we even call it the "Christmas check". The other we put towards vacation spending money or airfare.

We usually make our vacation reservations 1+ years in advance. For WDW I make monthly payments to pay off the resort. Then I'll save up to get the tickets and buy airfare. We also save up spending money too. That way everything that can be paid in advance is and everything we'll buy once we are there is not charged to credit card.

So, we pay for the trips out of our paychecks. I also get a nice bonus 1st Quarter every year so I use some of that too.

This is our First Real Disney Vacation. We usually only go for a day or two. But this year is our 10th yr anniversary, so we are going to splurge and stay a week with the 3 boys. We are paying for it on a charge card that is 0% interest. I will pay it off in about 5-6 months. I could use our savings which has a good amount in it but dh likes to keep that for emergencies and such. So we only touch that if absolutely needed. As for cash when we get there, we have $1,500 stashed in the safe at home for when he plows for cash in the winter. Originally we had a good amountin there too, but with the price of wood, pre-buying oil, a new quad for the kids, and a few other things it has dwindled. Had we booked earlier than 106 days out, I would have paid a bit off each month from the checking account, but we dragged our feet way too much....
