My five year old is excited to start grade 1, but my 7 year old is not happy to go back at all.
I am kind of happy they are going back tomorrow, but is a shame to mark the end to the best summer we have had as a family. We went to WDW in july and it was so great. It seems like so long ago already.
Oh well, i always feel depressed like this when things change like this, a few days i will feel better. Good luck to all the other parents shipping thier kids off to school tomorrow.

My son starts Kindergarten this week... he's only four! I am a little nervous, but excited too! Our trip is scheduled for Sept 17-27 (GO AWAY HURRICANES!!) so he'll only attend around 2 days due to staggered entry. He'll miss 4 days due to the trip.

School is so stressful!

I am split as well. DS going to grade 3 and DD going into grade 5. But my DD has to go to a new school grade 5 to 9 and she is only the size of some grade 2's..eeekkkk! It is kinda time for them to get back into a schedule. But I hate to see the end to summer. We too were in WDW in July and it was great. But back to school we go. I am a Educational Assistant in Kindergarten and I go back on the 9th, so one week to myself....wooohooo!!! We are now planning a trip with my husbands family. 15 of us are going to WDW Dec. 26 to Jan. 5....so the faster we go back to school... the faster we are back to see Mickey again!!!  Here's to Growing, Learning & Having Fun!!:)

I used to be a EA in a pre-k and kindergarten, too! And Millet - I think that's kinda close to me! :) (hi!)

It does seem weird that summer is over already. It went fast!

I work in a school too!

I'm the before and after school recreation director.

My dd8 starts a new school with a good communication program....so we are all a little nervous about that. But excited too! It will be a good program for him!

dd14 starts grade 10! She worked during the summer and saved $$$$ for a laptop! YEAH EM!

I'm super excited to start back to school!

Fall/Winter/Spring are my "Work" times and Summer is my rest time to BALANCE! I had great BALANCE this year!

Have a great day! S

as DD goes to SK and they do a staggered entrance, so she only goes back on Wednesday. Friday is her last day before we leave for WDW (hopefully Hanna lets us take off as planned:-( ) It's not too bad now as we get a couple of hours to ourselves, but when it gets colder and I go back to work, poor DH will have to drag the baby in the cold to bring DD home.

Well our oldest is excited and so is our 7 year old as she can't wait to see all her friends that she missed all summer long. Our son who is starting grade one is not so excited I will still have one home with me all day untill the wife gets home at 2:30 and I leave for work.

I'm a student myself.
Can't wait to go back, summer has been long and kind of boring.
I don't go back till Wednesday though, they're having the grade 9's in tomorrow for orientation and 'Get to know you' activities.

It's the most happiest time....of the year! :cloud9:

After 9 weeks at home with three kids. I am done
...well done. One goes into grade 9, one goes into grade 7 and my little man goes into grade 1 and I get to finally go back to work....woooowiththehoooo!:yay:

Small world. I have been at home for the last 8 years and am also going back to work as a EA!!! K-4

dd7 is very excited to go back to school (grade 3). Unfortunately her school is closed due to renovations for a year so she and all her school mates have been relocated to do a year of schooling in modulars attached to another school! The modulars were delayed in being put in so her school isn't starting until the 5th! :confused3

We did find out who her teacher is (when she called to tell us of the delay) and are very excited. However her Best friend isn't in her class this year :( So she's a little sad about that!

dd 4 doesn't go back to preschool until the 12th with staggered entry but she can't wait to see her classroom and meet her new teachers (although she thinks they will be the same!)

Where DID the summer go???

My 14yo ds is starting gr 9 today and is mixed between nervous and excited.

My 8yo ds is going into gr 3 and insists he hates school. he's my social butterfly so I'm sure he'll be happy to get back with his friends regardless of what he says.

As for me... I'm mixed between the fact that I'm going to miss them and the happy dance I want to do - the last 2 weeks they have been fighting and have been so ready to go back! I'm a bit nervous too as the beginning of the year is always a challenge for my 8yo and his allergies.... for some silly reason many of the parents seem to forget over the long break that they can't send nuts to school.

I love to hang out with my girls (most days):goodvibes. So they are both gone now and while it is nice to sit here drinking my tea listening to the Dis Unplugged Podcast in silence:surfweb: ....... I know when that school bus stops in front of the house I will be doing the happy dance:banana: Until the homework starts!:scared1:
